Was purchased for a 12 y/old swimmer, size 0.5. Works as expected the fit is good for this age typical hand size.I would recommend carefully measuring your child's hand before purchasing, because it was the second set of paddles that we bought The first one from the same manufacturer (size 1) was chose according to size chart but happened to be too big. Size one to my minds fits small size adult hand not small size child.These are just flat pieces of plastic, not any particular special shape to it. But is works and the swimmer is happy with them.So, I am overall happy with it as well just can't comprehend how two pieces of plastic with holes cost that much.

These are the original swim paddles. You should do your research as to how each type of paddle in the marketplace will benefit your form and buy the appropriate one. After 15+ years, I lost one of my original set. Contrary to what another reviewer said, these are the exact same material as the older models, equally rigid. The tubing is much improved and stickier, so the paddles stay tight on your hand. Love these paddles, but again, research which paddle will help with your particular stroke issues. Some people use multiple types of paddles, generally there is no single silver bullet.

been swimming for 20+ years and have never been unhappy with these. maybe i'm a traditionalist, but i like the way they feel when i use them, and eliminating the wrist strap allows me to work on my stroke entry technique and concentrate on how my hands move under the surface of the water so I'm getting the maximum power out of my strokes with the best technique possible. I know that if the paddle gets ripped off by the water, my stroke is doing something it shouldn't be, and it's an easy fix. plus these things last for forever. the only time i've ever had to replace them is because i moved across the country and gave my first pair away, which had been in use for well over a decade.

I'm a pretty decrepit and worn out masters swimmer who never excelled even as a youth. A 2000-yd workout is plenty for me. I was worried that these might be too large and cause shoulder problems. I've been using them for a couple 100s free and a couple 100s back, every other workout or so. Shoulders are fine, and I can really really feel them during backstroke. (I hope that means they are helping build strength.)

Strokemaker Paddles are a great training tool and work for everybody as there is a size and adjustment for everybody! The size 1 in particular was perfect for my sister, who is 12 years old and not to tall or strong yet. They also work well for stronger athletes who are on a taper and don't want to work their arms as much.They come with plenty of strap material, which is helpful for when the straps wear out.

My children like another brand more.

These were a Christmas gift. Swimming is my primary form of exercise. These paddles are significantly larger than the next size down and work my arms a lot harder. They also help with my form. I like that they aren't solid, allowing some water to pass through unlike solid paddles.

Paddles work well. From the reviews I was expecting extra cord, but there wasn’t enough for a backup for when that wears out. Does it wear out? Seems like it will, I don’t know.

Had to order a few sizes to figure out what fit my 12 yr old daughter, this size fit a 12 yr old girl. This style was her coaches choice.
