DRAWING NEAR

John Bevere provides a soldier foundation backed by scripture of many actions and activities which one might engage in to draw near to Him. What an awesome Treasure Map!!!

I'm amazed every time I open one of John Bevere's books. I believe I grow from them. I haven't found a snoozer yet.

I purchased this book because I wanted to do exactly what it said "Develop a Life of Intimacy with God" and it has provided me with sound teaching, perspective and understanding to help me do that very thing and above that. This book has been a blessing to my prayer life, has helped me to understand the reverential fear of the Lord and what worship truly is, and has increased my faith and my trust in God.By the time I got to half way through the book, especially after reading the chapter on what hinder's intimacy with God, I had to stop and send a "Thank You" message to the author on Facebook telling him Thanks for writing this book and the impact it was having on me.I am still reading the book but already, it has challenged me and called to come up higher in my walk with Christ. One of the most eye opening teachings he covers and of course backs everything up with scripture, is obedience out of delight vs. obedience out of restriction. With John Bevere's teaching gift, he elaborates points using both scripture and analogies from every day life to help make points clear and drive the message home. Because he is a teacher, there are things that I am learning that I didn't even expect to learn but is so helpful for me as a Christian such as when he talks about the presence of the Lord, his glory, and aspects of tongues I wasn't clear on before.I recommend this book to anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with God.

a book every believer must read

It was not a part of Christian life I had been taught about but what an eye opener !!! Recommend it for anybody searching for a closer walk with God.
