SoftSheen-CarsonLet's Jam! Shining and Conditioning Gel - Extra Hold, Bonus Size, 5.5 oz

I used this product years ago to keep my hair slick. But now I recently started using it again to keep my gray hairs lay down. This is a great product, it works for me and the price is right.

Hold hair good

I really do love this one. The smell is very pleasant, is easy to work with, it does hold, but not very tight as you can see in the pictures I posted. I started my braids last night and when I woke up, it wasn’t dried and they were loose, just a couple so I’m going to do them. My only problem with it is that it dyed my fingers, lol. I am doing very chunky xxxx Long box braids. So my fingers were always dipping into this, lol. I had to wash my hands for a long time and around my cuticles, sidewalks, and under the free edge of my nails are still blue even though I use my nail scrubbing brush. But the skin on my fingers is not blue anymore after washing them five times. it might not be everybody’s because I didn’t see this on any of the other reviews so it might just be the batch that I had. Nothing is perfect. But even with that, I would still recommend this. Maybe if they didn’t add the coloring to it and just left it clear , that would make it a five star to me. But yes, I do recommend this product because it does what is supposed to do and it also leaves my hair nice and soft and I don’t greasy at all. I did see some reviews on here saying it was greasy, but it’s not. I normally use Bellatique And I find that greasy and sticky at the same time compared to this. With this one all I have to do is wipe my fingers on my hand towel. I keep next to me when I’m braiding my own hair and the product feeling is gone. I’m doing talk to text because I’m braiding while I’m doing this so if there’s grammatical errors I do apologize, lol. So get yourself this because it really does work but what you need. Just don’t be alarmed when your fingers turn blue. It is easily washed off.

Ordered this "Let's Jam" as my hair texture has changed with age seeing that my mom began using this on her hair a few years before passing in 2013. I have 3c 4c coils with really fine edges that break off and rub out easily at night. I found that this particular jam dries out fast making my hair feel brittlely stiff while combing to manage it- ESPECIALLY on the 3c portion.It doesn't really hold as my ponytail or even braid downs meant to set overnight seem to melt in within an hour from the warmth of my head. It happens whether I used it with or without other products, after freshly washing my hair or touching up areas. Didn't matter as my hair became frizzy and unlayed within an hour and God forbid being out shopping 2-3 hours. I'd return home like I'd been on a cardio run. My face, ears, neck and neck of my shirt greasy and hair that's spazzed out into a 12" afro similar to Michael Jackson's in the 70s. Totally different look than when I left home.Now here's the better part of this review that just totally pissed me off😠...Knowing my struggles with this Jam, my daughter offered to do my braid down one evening🙃. After she finished I was like well damn...why doesn't the Jam do this for me- I mean EVERY strand of hair was in its place. It was like she put Gorillas Snot on my hair, parted it with hair clippers, and had an African lady braid it🤩.I asked what's so special about your hands using Jam in my head verses mine 🤔. She said nothing's special you've just been using the old one 🤓. I said what....wait, there's a new one 😳?! She showed me hers called "Shine 'n Jam" Conditioning Gel by Ampro which is actually different than this one 😤.Apparently it's a similar version to this SoftSheen Carson's brand but so much better. It's says it's 1 Choice for braiders which explained why my braid down looked so alive without melting or sweating out before she finished all 12 braids😍. What pissed me off is that she knew and saw my struggles, had what I needed, and said nothing until I was calling it quits with this one 🤬.Needless to say, this Let's Jam is a great for some but just didn't work as well for my coils as the Shine 'n Jam. My braid down held overnight and my coils were beautiful the next day with minimal frizz. Now that I know there's 2 "Jams", I'll be happily buying the Shine 'n Jam once the 2 jars I took from my daughter runs out 🤣🤣🤣... Yes, I got the last laugh! Hope this helps a few of you.

It's not the strongest holding gel out here. But it works like it has for years

Jam is good. Serves its purpose. Gets the job done

The gel is not sticky and allows you to have a nice finish with your braids.

Allows for sleek styling, great hold and no residue whatsoever.

Es bueno, pero dice extra hold y la verdad que no moldea a mi gusto, es para los que tienen un cabello menos rebelde que el mío
