Wee Felt Worlds: Sweet Little Scenes to Needle Felt Paperback – February 5, 2013

I started needle felting a few months back and wanted to pick up a few books for ideas. I've learned SO much from "Wee Felting Worlds" and would suggest it to anyone wanting both technique as well as patters/projects. I haven't yet made anything out of this book, but I love looking through it and gazing at the different pictures to get ideas for my own projects. I have read all of the techniques in the book and they are solid and helpful! Definitely a good book I would recommend to any beginning felter. I will eventually have to make that cute little tree stump with mushrooms. Thinking though that I might make it more life-sized and leave the center hollow so that my cats can use it as a hide out.

A lot of new techniques to add to the needlefelting ones I've learned from other sources.It's SO much fun. The technique is a lot like working in clay, only watch your fingers for the needles are very sharp.

Sweet, sweet pictures, very inspiring. I got this book to go along with wool for a gift for my 12yo and 10 yo daughters. This book makes a lovely gift for beginning felters.

Good for introductory level. Keeping it for my child as a resource book too.

Misleading it sounded like this was a scenery book with miniatures to play with. It is a how to book on how to make each item described.

I like this book. Even though some of the creatures are crudely designed, there is such a variety of things to make, that there is definitely something for everybody. There is not that much in the way of diagrams, but, the written instructions are really pretty detailed and well thought through. The one thing that lets the book down, and is one of my pet hates, is the fact that it shows too many photos of things that there are no instructions for. For instance, on one page there are instructions for an ice lolly.There are photos of 3 different ones. Unfortunately, there are only instructions for the simplest one (which I could have worked out for myself anyway), one with an unusual shape and the other with an unusual texture, have absolutely no instructions whatsoever. Just a clue written in a couple of lines under each picture would have made all the difference. And there are a good few examples of this throughout the book. However, having said all that, I still do like the book. I love the fact that there are plenty of accessories to make , to go with your little creatures. I love the fact that you can make a complete scene, and not just yet another animal, like in most other needle felting books. So, definitely not perfect, but well worth a look, and great inspiration into making complete, little felted scenes.

Great little projects, mix and match themes, hadn't really thought about making scenes.
