Need to Hook up an old school game box or VCR to your new TV? This box may be right for you!
There are lots of these out there. BEWARE though, many are titled exactly the same, but if you look close at the pictures - the input might be on the HDMI side and not the RCA side. These convertor boxes are not bi-directional!!! This means you need to buy the direction of the signal that you need!!! In this case, I have an old VCR. I have a set of RCA cables out on the back of my unit (red, white and yellow)) that run to the TV. I plugged the cables (INPUT) into the box. Then I plugged in a short HDMI out (output) to the TV attaching it into an available HDMI. I just happen to have an unused USB port on the back of the TV too and plugged in the provided very short (and kind of flimsy) USB-B to USB-A cable (I assume as the power). Unlike boxes going from HDMI back to RCA where the USB is optional (needed only for a signal booster), this box will not work without having the USB plugged in. If you don't have a handy empty USB on the TV, you can buy a longer (and not as flimsy) cable to run to a nearby USB OR to a wall outlet where you can scrounge up a cube, recharger block, etc. Lastly, there is a 720P and 1080P slider on the unit. It made no difference on my old VCR visually, but perhaps a newer unit or game console it would.

Still hanging on to old technology!
My dad wanted to connect his VHS player to his flat-screen TV. There were many of these adapter boxes to choose from, but I think this one was the most affordable.I was able to test and verify that this indeed works in displaying audio and video to an HDMI display.I highly recommend that you properly clean and maintain the VHS heads in your player before connecting this adapter box. By verifying your player works, you eliminate an important variable, should things go wrong.Important note: this adapter has a USB port for auxiliary power, but in my case, it was not needed. The adapter converted analog to HDMI without needing additional power. With this adapter, my dad can still enjoy his collection without needing an on-demand service.

Perfect
Love it

Did not function
This converter does not work for my video games systems. The BNC connector is loose in the housing and does not transmit the signal to the HDMI cable, even when plugged into a USB AC adapter (none of which was not included with the converter.)

Works great
Needed this to set up an old Nintendo to a TV in the house. I had watched a YouTube video and this was recommended. The grandkids love playing the old games that their parents had played when they were kids.

Works, but not perfectly
I didn't mind that this unit only comes with the USB cable. I have the composite and HDMI cables anyway. Set up was easy, just plug everything in, turn on the projector and VCR and there you go. The only problem I have with this unit is that it stretches the square TV picture to fill a widescreen. I would have preferred a setting to keep the original aspect ratio instead of a switch to go between 720 and 1080 which I didn't notice any difference between. Still, for ten bucks, at last I can watch old videotapes again, even if the picture is slightly stretched.
