Want some great advice and tips on how to train people online?
I have been teaching online since 2002. Myself and Cathy Van Dyke converted the Facilitating Career Development (FCD) class to a hybrid model and CCE didn’t know what the heck we were trying to do 🙂We thing we were the first people to actually move the FCD class to a hybrid model.Since then I have added online, discussion-based, 5-week long seminars that are completely asynchronous using a variety of Learning Management Systems (LMS) over the years. Even so, I picked up a number of tips from Cindy and tons of affirmations that I am doing things right (and now I have the research to support it).If you teach or train online (in COVID many of us have had to) and if you are new to teaching online, get your hands on this book, it will help you prepare to be a better trainer online.

Current Industry Leader!
The new edition of her work is the current state of the art in virtual design and delivery. Everything you need to know in one package. Highly recommend this book.I would only suggest she include examples in her future works. Maybe on a disk or a virtual download from her website.

Excellent tutorial when you need to knwo where & how to begin!
My team and I were new to virtual training and thought we knew how to approach it for success. Boy, was I wrong! I came across Cindy's book hoping to pick up some pointers and ended up changing my entire strategy and approach to virtual training! There are many great ideas in Virtual Training Basics that we will be incorporating into our program. One that I thought was the best was to have the presentation open on a second device so that you can see what the attendees are seeing! That is simple and brilliant, just like many of hte other ideas in this book!

Not for anyone with even a slight grasp of technology
This is so simplistic it's utterly useless. There is little to no substance and I don't see anyone benefiting from any content.

Valuable Guide to Virtual Training
This is a valuable guide for anyone who wants to know how to make the most out of a virtual training event. The focus is on the virtual classroom rather than on webinars and webcasts. Cindy has years of experience in this field and is able to provide great ideas for facilitating interactive activities that help participants learn and improve performance.
