It's a very interesting book for the ones interested in natural medicines, and Chinese Medicine. The authors travel to south America and find a great amount of similarities between the medical traditions of the Mayan people and Chinese Medicine and start to explore this fact, by observing and absorbing a lot of information and knowledge.This interesting book makes us reflect on how our body works and the different views of health and treatment in different cultures where a holistic view, of body, mind and soul are the base for balance and vitality.I highly recommend this book as it's also a great source of information on a culture that got wiped out after the colonization and who once used to be such a great and advanced civilization.We've got all the advances of technology here in the west, but there's a lot we need to learn with the traditional methods of healing.

A great piece of work that gives a wonderful insight into the Mayan Medicinal way both from the past and into the present with interesting and informative chapters and comparisons with the better known Chinese system. It's relatively easy to read to and with so few practice books on the subject out there it's a real winner. Perhaps a few more diagrams here and there but it does not detract . Well worth it!
