Starrett Durable Steel/Vinyl Caliper Case, Protective Storage for 6"/150mm Calipers, Lightweight Design, Easy Transport - 30050521

Years ago I bought a Mitutoyo digital caliper that has served very well. But the case was never worth beans. The caliper was not held correctly in the case and rattled around inside. The case did not close reliably, and that has only gotten worse. I have a cheap Chinese case coming ($4), but I decided to take a chance on this Starrett case, knowing from the get go that it would need some "fitting" of the foam inside. Bottom line is that with very minimal (but careful) trimming of the foam insert my calipers FINALLY have a good case. I'm ordering another to "have in stock"! Also, in case you are wondering, the Starrett case is of the quality most have come to expect from Starrett.

A very nice case for the price. I paid about US$15 for it and am glad I bought it.It snaps shut firmly so watch your fingers or close with both hands. The hinge is concealedand the outside material is of good qaulity with out blemishes,.The inside lining is a little hard but cuts easily if your indicators are a little large incertain areas or if you are useing non starret product.A big jump up on the plastic cases...this will last many years.

I bought this case for a friend who has a starrett caliper, after seeing how nice it is i will be purchasing one for my Brown and Sharpe. The case fits tight with the starrett and will require a little modification to work with the brown and sharpe but will be worth it. Its a great buy.

This case is is extremely well built and looks like a million bucks. The problem with it it my starrett caliper doesn't quite fit right. The foam on the inside (terrific quality by the way) is about a quarter inch off on the dial. In time I'm guessing it will "wear in" and compact the foam or maybe I'll whittle it off to fit. Either way I'll keep it.

I received the case quickly and I am very pleased with the quality. But you come to expect that from a Starrett product. The only thing I found is that the case seems to be for a 9" caliper, not a 6". My 6" fit snug with no problem but the case seems to be for the larger Caliper. For the price, it's a bargain.

Very good quality case. I carefully removed some forms and my Mitutoyo caliper fits nicely.The case is little heavy, but I guess it means good quality. The texture of the outside cover is nice.

Solid and secure with decent padding in the event of dropping, this case is a significant upgrade to plastic cases that come with instruments. An added expense but worth it to look after and protect your accurate tool!
