The sizing was just correct
Granddaughter of 12 years average build took small size which was not small but just perfect for her size. EX small which said fits 10-14yrs would have been tight.

Son wanted one and loves the one we bought.

Go larger
Bought for a 14 year old. Normally buy small adult but this is slightly smaller. Will fit but not for long.
