Grandma Lena's Big Ol' Turnip (Albert Whitman Prairie Books (Paperback))

A great book to start our 1st grade homeschooling journey, my son has really loves this one. It also opens the door for cooking kitchen learning naturally. Out of all the enormous turnip folk tales, this one is the favorite.

I stumbled across this book at the library when my grandma was ill now she's decease. So funny my grandma was name Lena, shaped like this character, and wore big glasses as well!! I had to own a copy!!

I love this book and my daughter does too. So I like to give it as a gift to others!

My daughter, Lena, 3 years old, loves this book. The title first caught her interest but she also enjoys the story. Gardens are intriguing to her and this story centered around a garden brings so many other positive lessons to light including cooperation, sharing, community spirit, family. I highly recommend this book to be included in any children's collection at home or teacher's collection at school.

This book is a classic. A great story for all children.

I read this story to my Kindergarten class, They were focused and engaged listening to the story from beginning to end.
