The Patchwork Quilt: A book for children about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)

Great introduction. Needs improvement.
As a therapist , This book is “one of a kind” on the market. It’s hard to find resources for people dx with DID. This book is ideally for ages 3-9. It’s not too long and straight to the point. I would like to see a revised version of this book and also maybe a series .Areas of improvement: I think computer graphics would be much more appealing to children. I think on the cover you should put the ideal reading level for children. I know the author stated they weren’t a mental health therapist. However, maybe teaming up with a mental health therapist could improve the quality of this book. Maybe you could have a “parents guide” on how to further engage their child on DID after they read the book. You could also provide additional educational resources for the parent.Overall: The author has a good start on this book. If the author make some adjustments with this book, I can definitely seeing this as a “must have” book.

Beautiful and moving
I am an adult with DID and hold this book close to heart. The story and then the explanation is close to perfect for children and adults affected by DID. Highly recommend it

Wonderful Book!
This is a beautiful book for children to help them learn about DID. It can help children to understand a family member who is Multiple. It can also be very helpful for littles who are part of a Multiple system. I really loved all of the different things the parts decided to become. I highly recommend this book.

Cute book but confused my 10 yo daughter
This is a good introductory book for explaining DID to kids. But my daughter got confused how it related to a quilt. Ultimately I used the movie Inside Out and she found that easier to understand

Easy to Understand
I was crying before I even finished the book, but a great way to explain DID especially to tiny humans or child alters in your own system

It’s a must for ANYONE ! It’s written and explained in a way that anyone would be able to grasp.
This book is such a beautiful written addition to my collection, it’s aimed at children but I think it also narrows it down enough to explain it too someone who had no idea as to was D.I.D is. My dad read it and understood that him sharing the similar version to someone is a great way to put it across.Honestly it’s such a good book I’m very grateful for the author writing it 💖The illustrations are so beautiful and fitting .

THE best possible way to explain DID
This is THE best way to explain DID to children and adults alike. I made both grandmothers read it and they cried, as did everyone in our DID family support group. They all want their own copy now. It's just such a perfect comparison and explains DID in a way that is simple and clear yet deep and relatable. Highly recommend for anyone who needs others to understand what DID is.
