Not the same as the store but great for those in the South
In the South we can't find Gold Star chili anywhere... and for those of us who visit Terminal B at CVG to get our first fix of Gold Star when we arrive, we often miss the comfort food that we love. The Gold Star chili cans were perfect for what I needed for a Sunday afternoon football dish. The only concern I had with this product was that the cans were only 10ounces. Make sure to take note of this when ordering as you will need to order more than your regular sized cans. Product quality was very good, the order fullfillment time was quite efficient and I was able to make my famous football crock pot 3 way dish for our friends (which is a big hit among my southern friends).

Depending what restraunt you go to ?
Hi folks I'm a Professional cook speaking with ages of experience with cooking and tasted more chili than anyone I know around. Seriously if you want to treat folks to the best, Gold Star or Dixie Chili is the only correct way to do it and do it properly. There simply is nothing better if you're looking for Real professional Chili. Gold Star taste depends on what location you go to. Some tastes far better than other locations. But out of the can it's same every time. FYI: --Never boil your hot dog's and never use kahn's hot dogs - lightly pan fry then for better taste.

The packet mix is really good
The canned chili is not bad, for canned chili. I found the packet mix was really tasty using fresh lean ground beef. The directions call for 6 cups of water, that's way to much. I would cut it down to 4 maybe 4 1/2 if you let it simmer for a couple of hours. I actually like this better than Skyline or Dixie.
