Really fun set for my almost 9 year old AND his Dad
The age group on the box says for 9-14 year olds--and my 8.9 year old was definitely in need of a little help building the set, but that is what Dad is for! The two of them really had a great time putting the vehicle together..and my son has been having fun playing with it ever since. As several people have noted, it's not the most durable of all the sets in terms of the final product holding together...but then my son just puts it back together and keeps playing. This is not a bother and he has fun rebuilding (and I'm pretty sure that it's not always quite an accident when things fall off). The minifigs are great too...and from the perspective of an almost-9 year old, this is a great set. From the parental perspective it's also great (if a little costly) for the entertainment. If your kiddo is a little older than mine (and has been building Lego Star Wars type sets before) then they will likely be a little more independant.Highly recommended!JTG

It's Lego - it's great!
My 5 yr old grandson is an official Lego fanatic, and this kit is what he wanted for Christmas. Luckily, once opened he got to take it home with him and his Mom helped him put it together. From what she tells me, it wasn't as time-consuming as originally thought -- about two and a half hours total. My grandson has played with this every day since. My only object is the price of Lego's these days. They've always been expensive but it seems to me $200 and $300 for some of the larger kits is just out of hand. My humble opinion, of course. That said, I made my grandson very, very happy this Christmas -- and that's what counts, after all.

Fun toy for a Star Wars loving Son..but
I got this for my Star Wars loving 7 year old son that is freakish in his ability to build complicated Lego sets. He loved the gift! It was a hit! It is very authentic and the Lego figures included with the set are a definite bonus and another big hit!As amazing as he is with the complicated sets (he built this set by himself first entirely on his own) there were some mistakes. So some adult help is definitely needed in the younger age groups. It is very fun to ply with but not very hearty. Pieces fall off easily especially the legs. It is very delicate once built. Good thing he knows where all the pieces go in order to put it back together! For that reason he tends to play with it more as a part of a scene on use it rather limitedly but loves using it! It really so authentic to an actual At-At Walker.

I bought it for my grandson and he loves it.
My grandson has a lot of these kind of toys and he loves this one.I plan to order more of them in the future.I think it makes a child use his creative talents.

Great
Great, but they may need a little help with this one. Your kids I mean. It is definitely a large toy when built.

Well designed, like all Lego products - but beware...
We are big fans of Lego products - my seven year old son loves them. This set is well designed, but it is fragile when assembled and can not really be played with much, which is a little disappointing for my son who wants to set up battles and recreate scenes from the movies. Another caution, this set does not come with numbered bags like many other sets - you must open and dump out all six bags at once in order to build it.

Worst most fragile Lego star wars toy out there
This AT-AT comes apart at the seams just when you're trying to move it. None of the parts are attached well at all if you follow the instructions. Multiple pieces break off from the body, the head, legs, and armor panels just trying to play with it and reinforcing it with your own collection is just as frustrating. I just finished making this toy somewhat stable and it took me almost a half hour and I feel like punching something repeatedly now. This toy is nothing but frustration and disappointment. If you want a model display mantle piece then this is for you. If you or your kids want to play with it STAY AWAY!!!! It will drive you crazy!!!!!

Every Star Wars fan's dream
Fragile yes- but seriously, just add some reinforcing extra Legos where you see weak points. A lot of work- my son is 5 so I built it in about 3 hours of intensive assembly. But the final product is quite incredible and gets played with all the time now. Great to have so many characters included too.Word to the Wise: In order to efficiently build a huge set like this, and not go insane you MUST lay eveything out by color, if not size on a big table/counter before hand! Don't think you can "find" pieces from a big spread out pile- it will take 2-3 times longer!
