Good case, be careful of sizing your models, there are two separate insert sizes!
Bought this case as an addition to my old Games Workshop battle case from the late 90s. This case compares pretty well to my old GW 3-layer figure case. You can see them side by side (GW is red, Feldherr is grey). The foam inserts fit most minis that are using 25mm bases and you can easily cut out foam between two slots if you have a slightly larger model or something that spans a further distance than normal troops. The case that they foam inserts sit into is nice but super flimsy without the foam inserts in them so don't expect full protection of your models as if it were a hard shell case. One other thing to note that I distinguished before buying, there are 5 sizes of feldherr cases available (tanks/72, 108, 150, 180, and 250). The 72, 108, and 180 models are laid out in a 4x9 grid per layer of foam where as the 150/250 are a 5x10 grid. I noticed some people complaining that they bought the 250 version and it wouldn't fit most models... it's because the slots are both less wide and less tall than the version I bought here. I'm not 100% sure but I'd recommend the 150/250 case only if you had models that were smaller in stature than other armies (ie... lots of imperial guard, skaven, etc...). You can see that my standard boyz almost take up the whole slot on the 4x9 grid so I doubt they would have fit well in the 5x10 grid. Hopefully that helps!

Not for Warhammer 40k!
Warhammer 40k players beware! The slots will NOT hold many Warhammer 40k models. You’ll be able to hold smaller, reserved posed Space Marine units (Intercessors) but anything more dynamic will not fit properly (Assault Intercessors). This is more appropriate for small D&D miniatures, not an item for Warhammer 40k.

Perfect for All My Knuckleduster Gunfighter's Ball Figures
If you have a whole lot of 28mm miniatures, this is perfect for your needs. I have over 160 Wild West gunfighters that I have been painting since April, and it is perfect portable storage for my needs. Now, you would have to rip out some walls to store larger figures in this case, but strictly for its storage capacity for 28mm figures, this is the case for you. I not only recommend this for others, I also know that I will be getting at least one more - to store my Dead Man's Hand gunfighters.

Good quality case, excellent figure storage
I needed a figure case for my Warhammer 40K army, one that would hold a large amount of 28mm figures and keep them from moving around during transport. The Feldherr 180 is an excellent choice for those players who have a lot of 1"/1 1/2" tall 28mm miniatures (Space Marines/Adeptus Astartes, Imperial Guard/Astra Militorum, Eldar, Warmachine/Hordes, etc) in standard poses. When you receive it, you'll have to 1) punch out all 180 tray slots, 2)peel the paper off the glue on the trays and 2)stick the five 36-slot foam trays to their bottom foam pieces (make sure to align the corners and edges, and apply good pressure to ensure the glue adheres). Once assembled, the trays fit in the case snugly but with enough flex in the case sides to slide the trays out evenly, without spilling your models. And you can use the foam from the slots to make building scenery for tabeltop games, since they all have glue on the bottoms!

This is an amazing box. I was looking at buying it from ...
This is an amazing box. I was looking at buying it from Europe, but the time, and shipping cost was just more than I wanted to deal with. So when i found it was available on Amazon I cheered. The foam is not very hard, so I have no worries about it rubbing paint off my minatures. it came with a thin layer to put over the otp and protect it from rubbing on the outside of the case. It also holds a ton of small figures. I snipped a few larger and bought a pickn pluck layer for a few of my more difficult ones. However this has worked fantastic, with awesome quality.

Perfect size for us.
This arrived right on schedule and I was very happy with it. Prior to ordering this case my husband and I shared a single hard case with our friends and the two of us were really into painting miniatures so we quickly outgrew the 20 or so spots allotted us in the shared case. We bought this after we had tripled our collection from what space was available and we didn't even fill up the first two trays of the new case, so lots of room to grow. This case also is the perfect size for D&D miniatures, though if you get some of the larger figures its easy to cut out some of the dividers and make larger slots. since the case is so large if you need deeper slots for some of your really larger miniatures i would recommend getting this case with the thicker foam but if most of your figures are about 1 in tall this is perfect.

This case is nicely built and classy looking
This case is nicely built and classy looking, but it is not an ideal storage solution for larger model count games such as Warhammer 40k. The size of the case makes it incompatible with most other foam systems. The thin base sheets of foam are as soft as the rest of the foam, which makes the foam trays feel floppy and require being held with 2 hands if you are storing anything heavy. The pre-cut infantry trays only fit 25 mm based figures with small weapons. The thin front pocket can barely even fit a softcover codex. Forget about a hardback rule book.My biggest issue with the case is how hard it is to find additional sheets of foam. The manufacturer is located in Germany, so shipping costs are astronomical. Additionally, the size of the foam sheets gives you very little options for customization. Need that 4" sheet for a large model? Well you can't fit much more than a 4" slab in this case, so good luck getting any others in there with it.I recently bought a Game Plus "Flagship" case. It is significantly better suited for Warhammer 40k. I strongly recommend the Game Plus "Flagship" case in the $50-$100 category for army bags. If you are playing anything other can Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum), you should pass on Feldherr for 40k. Please see my photos for comparison between the Feldherr Case and the Game Plus case.I have included pictures below highlighting the size and shape difference between the Feldherr Case and the Game Plus case.
