What An Experience!
The book was a gift from my daughter. Mr. Wiesman carries the reader on a most interesting odyssey to the four corners of the earth. His insatiable passion for the DC-3 leads us with him to places where, at times, we face the dangers of uncertainty, while at others we experience his satisfaction of accomplishing goals. His writing style is easy and smooth with each event melding smoothly into the next.

Best book I ever read
Fascinating, exciting, heart pounding , tear jerking, this story of the quest for C47 Dakota survivors, wrecks and relics is great for any aviation enthusiaist or lover of a good story. Like tales told around a campfire this book gives a great story. Experiences only few can live but many dream of, I give it high praises.

More Than A Story About A Plane
Highly entertaining and not just for DC3 fans. Mr Weisman has many interesting stories to tell about the interesting countries he has visited searching for DC3 parts. Some may see irony in the fact he only wants the parts to build office desks but there is much more to his story and his affection for the plane shines through. Not a total success in editing but a lively piece of story telling

If you're an airplane geek, you'll really enjoy this
Most books on a subject merely inform. This one is an adventure too! Learning about people and places in far-flung corners of the world as well as how the venerable Dakota still serves them, the story took me along for a memorable ride. There were enough pictures to complement the verbal descriptions too. Great story, well told!

Great Passion!
Hans has the passion it takes to travel and look all over the world for DC-3 parts. I think also enjoys the adventures that go along with his love for the greatest plane ever built.

Loved this book
This is one of the most interesting aviation books I have ever read and I read a lot. Not just about the DC-3 but a world adventure story. I bought the hard copy after reading it on my Kindle just to have in in my library. I was sorry for it to end. I took my first DC-3 trip when I was 10 years old. TWA to Chicago MidWay airport.

Great adventure, highly recommended
This is a most attractive book, - nicely printed and bound and with gold-embossed lettering along the spine. More importantly, it is an exciting book. The author shares his adventurous life - and his love for the DC-3 - with us in a charming, informative and humoristic manner. A free and easy childhood on the threshold of the Borneo jungle was followed by university education in his native Netherlands and a career in the corporate world (which included several spectacular aviation related events). Eventually, he set up his own business and started tracking down, buying and converting the wingtips of defunct DC-3 aircraft into designer desks! His quest took him all over the planet and he writes hilariously about his failures and successes in developed and developing countries, trying to do business with people of all shades of honesty. The book is illustrated with a wealth of interesting colour photos. A must for anyone interested in historic aircraft, especially for fans of the 80-year old DC-3 in all its shapes and varieties.

Great read
An interesting book about a man who loves the DC3 Dakota and gives an insight to a past world in aviation and the difficulties of trying to do business with Any military/government...

Has you in tears of laughter with the stunts he pulls at points and tears of sorrow to see the destruction of some of these grea
A really fascinating book about both the author and his search for every bit of Dakota he can find. Has you in tears of laughter with the stunts he pulls at points and tears of sorrow to see the destruction of some of these great planes by those who should no better. If you want a read that's more than a glossy photo album then this is for you, in my opion of course.

At last, the book all 'Dak' lovers have been waiting for. You'll take off on an adventure that covers the globe, from some steaming Amazonian jungle airstrip to some far eastern palm fringed lagoon, searching for the few remaining examples of this elusive creature - the DC3! A facinating story and well worth the wait.
