great grater

This grater makes quick work of whatever you put to it. That can include your fingers, so go slow toward the end. Easy to clean with a brush and dish detergent. Has been in dishwasher a few times with no damage. The handle is large enough for me to grip firmly, and is non-slip. I recommend it.

Works as expected

Nice all metal grater with very sharp cutting edges, but came with one face bent up and scratched and chips taken out of the rubberized coating on the handle. If you want it, see if you can buy it somewhere else.

I bought this coarse microplane because I felt the fine one I have was TOO fine for garlic and ginger. I use it to grate directly into the mixing bowl or pot. I can see the garlic as I go, and not have to turn it over and push semi-liquid off the back. It cleans up quickly and easily. I haven't tried it for grating hard cheese, but think it would do a fine job as well.

I have been searching for years for a replacement grater for my Oxo, the handle of which is falling off. I have ordered several only to be disappointed. That plastic edging that often goes around the bottom edge these days - who has time to hassle taking that on and off for washing?This grater is the most solid, well-built and SHARP grater I could imagine. The cheese does not get stuck at the bottom lip, the handle is large, the capacity is larger than all of the others I've seen, which is so nice for our large family.The only "problem" is that it is so sharp it really could be quite dangerous. I won't allow any of my younger children to use it and my husband told me he was scared of it!

Extremely sharp and effective. Perhaps would have preferred cutting blades to run the opposite direction, but that perhaps is just me.

It's not a bad item. It works great but there a but: I found it a bit flimsy, maybe a ticker steel plate would have been better? But I guess that come with the *Fine* zest. The zest is super fine, by the way. The wideness is perfect but I would love 1 inch, maybe even 2 inch of extra length. I still recommend it! I didn't find better anyway!

Don't dislike but is very different from my previous one. Might take a big if getting used to

I was expecting professional grade from Mercer Culinary but very thin material used and difficult to use.

Nice and sharp. Perfect for grating hard cheeses.
