Easy to install. Works GREAT! The unit is not designed to be mounted in the engine room. I mounted it in the salon above the engine room in a cabinet. Easy to access but in a clean inviting environment. It should last a long time.

Replaced my old AC Battery Charger with this superior product. Even though the other product seemed to be built better (mostly metal compared to plastic) this seems to have far more features. Hopefully this lasts longer than 7 years, which is what the old one lasted. Time will tell but installation and setup was simple.

After nearly a year of use as a "portable" charger used for recharging two deep cycle batteries in my 4x4 off-road camping vehicle I'm very pleased with the 1250p. I mounted fold out legs to the back of the charger and an anderson plug on the end of 9' cables that matches the one I mounted in the front bumper of my truck, connected to the house batteries. I recharged the batteries about once a week and the 1250 never failed to bring them back up to a true full charge. This is not only useful, quick and convenient, but should extend battery life by keeping voltage up where it belongs. I went this route rather than buying a true portable charger because it was very hard to find one that had the right charge profile and was certified by Odyssey batteries for use on their 31M-2150 model (very few do and they are $$$). This unit had the positive reviews, profile and certification so I went for it and am glad I did. Since it's not mounted I keep it in a custom road case with shaped foam insert and a 14/3 cord with AC plug.UPDATE: Another year gone by with nothing new to report, which is something to report, no trouble! My truck is another story though. It's got a phantom voltage drain which keeps the charger in use year round since late 2016. It's been a real PITA trying to locate the draw in this 20 YO truck, but I'm glad I have the 1250P backing me up till I can get it fixed.

Works great all I ever wanted in a boat battery charger.

I have an emergency inverter setup to power my home's refrigerator in the case of a power outage. I live in the woods in the Santa Cruz mountains and its not untypical to have the power go out 3 or 4 times during the winter. I wanted a way to run the frig at night and charge my inverter's batteries in the daytime quickly without having to run my generator very long.I am happy with the charger as it does the job well on my bank of 2 large batteries however I have found on issue people buying this product need to know:1. I would have given it 5 starts but I found an issue where the charger can lock up and stop working. AC input power glitches can lock up the charger's CPU and put it in a state where it is outputting 0 volts and leaves its cooling fans running full speed. It cannot charge or maintain batteries in this state and only a unplug/replug will clear it and reset the CPU. I have had this happen twice in the last year. Pro Nautic Tech support knows about this issue and they insist it would only happen in very rare occurrences.2. Minor nit - the digital voltage reading on the charger's display is not all that accurate (if you care). Innova makes some pretty inexpensive battery monitor devices (3721) that are surprisingly accurate (within +/- 1% of actual) and draw very low current.

Replaced an older 40 amp Dolphin unit that completely failed. This has a far superior digital display. It is smaller so installation was easy using the same wiring.

This is an outstanding product and I'm very satisfied with this purchase, especially after switching to AGM batteries from FLA batteries, as it charges them in a fraction of the time over the OEM onboard charger.

First rate marine charger. I'm using it to charge a large lithium phosphate battery. It's heavy duty and can take a beating electrically as well as physically. It's configurable and remembers it through removal of the main power. Output is clean and will not make your led lights flicker. I was easily able to talk to an engineer at the company to make sure this would work without any surprises. It cools by convection but under heavy load there is a variable speed fan that comes on. Even with the fan on it's very quiet.

Best charger out there

The unit is well built but did not work properly. It intermittently over-charges to 15.95 VDC (i tried numerous settings) causing my inverter to go into fault mode. I'm an electronics engineer with 25 years of experience in power electronics. I sent the unit back to Promariner but they failed to fix the problem.
