Q: How do you remove the plastic safety clip?

No safety clip to remove - they are extremely hard to light. I do not use anymore.

Q: I know these are childproof but I can't even push them down to light! Is there any way to remove that safety feature and make lighting easier???

I'm not sure about removing the safety feature. It took me a lot of practice to get the hang of getting it to light. Not much fuel in them.
