fit perfect, More usable than the factory rail.
Great addition for mounting optics. Fit well, although I had to file a bit off of the included recoil tab that fits into the Mini-14 groove. But the result was a good, tight fit. Ejected cases clear the rail. Gives much more room that the stock Ruger rail included with the rifle. And - I can still use the iron sights fairly well.

The factory scope base for the Mini 14 has that notch cut out for the casings to eject since it sits way lower which made it hard to mount anything on it, but this scope base sits up higher allowing the spent casings to eject without needing half the rail to not exist. it's also longer which allows for more placement options for your optics. I've put about 200 rounds through my Mini 14 with a Vortex 1-8 LPVO and canted red dot mounted to this and it's held pretty well so far. I could grab my gun by the scope and give it a good shake and it won't come loose. the height allows you to see your factory iron sights through the bottom of it though they become much harder to use. You might be better off just getting a pair of flip up iron sights if you're worried about having a backup. The only real negative I can think of is that because it makes your scope sit up so high you can't really rest your head on the cheek rest of the stock. You'd either need a stock with an adjustable cheek riser or a comb to raise your head up to whatever level your scope is at. All in all, I would definitely recommend anyone with a Mini 14 to buy this. Leagues better than the factory scope base.

This scope mount rail is solid and will hold your scope attachments properly. Below the rail, there is a hole for you to use your Mini 14/30 iron sightsThe downside to this product is that the scope mount rail's attachments screws will come loose. For example, I shot 100 rounds of 7.62 x39mm from my Ruger mini 30 and the screws loosened. This is bad. The workaround is to use a thread stopper substance on the scope mount rail' attachment screws.

I liked the price of this, and the fit on my Ruger Mini-14, but with my scope, it did not work so i could get it sighted in.
