Awful Egyptians
"Awful Egyptians was pretty repetitive and wasn't as interesting as "Awesome Egyptians." Between the two, I'd recommend the latter.

GREAT book, super series!
This is a GREAT book. In their early teens, my boys learned Roman history from it and never forgot it! They can still spout of facts they learned from this series a decade later. I recently sent it to an adult friend who is interested in Roman history and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maybe for older boys but my girls didn't like this at all
My kids were too grossed out by this book to continue reading it. Maybe for older boys but my girls didn't like this at all. It seemed to focus on the worst parts of the civilization. I understand that all civilizations have their good and bad, I just like books that portray both sides better. Info is accurate and writing is good, just the content was negative in my opinion.

Horrible Histories
This books are wonderful. They make learning history fun and cool. It combines jokes, historical facts and funny information in a great easy-to-read package. My 4th grader loves the whole series. Both reluctant readers and history lovers will enjoy the breezy way history is told in these books. Ideal for 3rd-5th graders and even middle school students. Great as gifts or for a classroom. Too bad all history books aren't this fun!

Nice bathroom reader for adults but would be put to better use by getting your younger children into the "fun" stuff in history.
