Mama B - A Time for War (Book 5)

Momma B never fails. True story: I have a girlfriend who was stressing a bit too much on her job for both me and her husband. We were both noticing how much of a complainer she had become; but we both understood it was because of the level of stress she was carrying. So...I purchased the 1st three Momma B books for her and when she started reading them I was hearing good things from her. Her smile returned, she talked less about the job, she had renewed joy, and she couldn't put them down. She told me her husband was sleeping and she was in the corner of the bed still trying to read each night. She purchased the remainder of the 8-book series and now is asking me when will the next book come out! Thanks Momma B (Michelle S.) for restoring joy in my friend.

I have read several Mama B books, and I love Mama B and the stories. I haven't read the books in order, and it hasn't made any difference in my enjoyment, though reading them in order would make it easy to understand relationships.This book is really timely because of the hostility to anything Christian in the public square. When Mama B is told she can't play Gospel music in her exercise class, she goes to war--spiritual war, that is. Mama B's actions remind us that all of us Christians need to be engaged in spiritual warfare.Mama B does selfless things to show God's love. Then, like so many of us who try to do the right thing, she messes up by losing her temper. She is a devout Christian who loves the Lord, but she's a sinner like the rest of us. Mama B, though, recognizes when she falls and confesses to the Lord right away, as we all should.I look forward to reading more Mama B stories.

This series is just wonderful! I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys and remembers the church ladies who always supported and ran black churches. These ladies were the real saints of the church. Mama B is the real deal, she runs her life in conjunction with God's expectations of Christians and trust's that he will take care of the rest.Getting used to the changes her life has taken is taking more time than she thought, but Mama B is up for the challenge. She decides to start a Christian exercise class when the one she visited is too worldly. Everyone seems to enjoy the class but there has been a complaint about her choice of music. Knowing she hasn't broken any rules, she keeps the class going but someone isn't happy with her, and more conflict arises.There are other problems when she comes to the aid of a student of the class and her children. The story is engaging and a wonderful read. Bring me more Mama B!

Michelle Stimpson is my favorite author and Mama B is my favorite series. Every time I read Ms. Stimpson's writing, God reveals to my heart something new or something I'd forgotten. I always finish her books encouraged, wanting to strengthen and grow in my relationship with God, be obedient to His will, delve into His word, and hope He'll continue to encourage Ms. Stimpson to write more, more, more!"Mama B: A Time for War," was such a timely read during this season in my life. Mama B wants to encourage others to exercise, eat better, while praising God at the same time. However, others who don't share Mama B's mindset, have taken it upon themselves to create barriers to prevent her from inspiring others with God's encouragement while "they're perspiring". If you wonder what the latter means, and want to be encouraged by Mama B's love for others, pick up this book to find out for yourself!Also I highly encourage you to read Ms. Stimpson's other books including her non-fiction book, "Uncommon Sense."

I absolutely love all of Michelle Stimson‘s books. I especially enjoy the Mama B series because it’s a reminder of how we are to allow God to go before us and to consult him on everything we do. I find myself stopping in the middle of reading to pray.

I love how the book made me realise that it is not alright to be sitting on the fence about my faithI love mama B and feel as though she is more than just a fiction character rather my adopted big no nonsense loving grandma!I love how Michelle writes about both the good and not so good- anger bitterness , kindness and of course love even amongst couples and everything is just so beautifully written and G rated too! I keep highlighting great insights, and I am yet to be let down. Indeed, all her books that I have had the pleasure of reading, have been soooooo uplifting and I have'nt been able to stop reading from one to another.....wow!

After reading the other books,I knew that Michelle Stimpson had to end Mama B's journey on positive note. Sometimes we tend to stick our foot in our mouth and then have to ask God for his "forgiveness". I'm glad Mama B stood up for what she knew in her heart and soul was right. She was truly "A woman of God", who knew her bible and loved the Lord.And as far as Trouble is concern, she needed to hear the truth from somebody. And what better person to hear it from,Mama B. God put her in Trouble's life for a reason.That goes to prove the saying,"He may not be there when you need him...But He's Always Right on Time"!

I know a lot of people look at the big story, but I look at the small parts. The smallest parts of the book makes you think; take a look at your own actions. When she won her mediation and called her friend Ophelia, Mama B had to check her self for almost gossiping. There were other moments when she had to check herself for unchristian thoughts, or allowing satan to use the printed word to bring down her spirit. The big story of how God uses one thing (creation of an exercise class) to bring a lost sheep (Trouble/Danielle) to him. I highly recommend any of Michelle's books.

Another wonderful, thought provoking, Holy Spirit filled story from Michelle Stimpson. In this book Mama B opens her doors again to those in need but this time she has her new husband to consider. Mama B has many trials and lessons to learn, as we all do, but as always God is Merciful.Such a beautiful, emotional series I am so happy to have discovered this author since coming to Christ and would recommend her books to everyone.

Really good! Loved all the books! I couldn't put it down - I wanted to know what would happen next. I learned so much from it too!!

I have read and loved the story in every one of the Mama B series and this is no exception. I love the warmth and realness of the characters and the natural flow of the storyline, some may complain the it's not intellectually stimulating, maybe, but it's spiritually stimulating and great to read. I started it three hours ago and just could not put it down, superb.
