Mark Twain - Nonfiction Reading Comprehension, Grades 7 - 8

Finally, a reading comprehension book that my 13 year old enjoys using. Each lesson is one page of reading, and one page of answers. Subject varies from page to page, but is usually a history or science reading lesson. This is our 4th comprehension book we've tried from various sources, and by far our favorite!

If you're trying to teach according to the common core standards, this book is helpful. The questions are a bit too easy, but the readings are stimulating for students making the switch from fiction to nonfiction.

It has interesting and informative articles and my daughter said she liked it. I only wish it was a little longer.

Contains interesting facts, but not very challenging.

This collection of comprehension activities is a great supplemental resource. The selections are leveled and contain excerpts from different content areas.
