NOT leopard frogs.
We purchased this kit to see the tadpoles grow. My mom loves frogs and always wanted some, and this was a good deal. We moved them to an established aquarium after a few weeks for fear that the water quality in the small container was suffering too much. In the larger aquarium they thrived and quickly began to develop. But as they developed, we noticed that they didn’t look anything like leopard frogs. At all. We now have one fully developed froglet and a tadpole with well-developed back legs. I’m pretty sure we got bullfrogs instead! So just be aware that you may, in fact, get bullfrogs - quite a bit more than you might have bargained for!

Spend extra money
Ordered 2 one was DOA but natures gifts was quick to give me a refund for the dead one. First off I did not use the plastic aquarium that came with the kit other then to house the tadpole while I cleaned the main aquarium. All together input in about $150+ to make a comfortable and more natural environment for our tadpole. He/she is doing really well and will be a full frog in a few days. The total transformation took about 5 weeks and not 16-18. The tadpole was quite big when we got it and it already had small back legs. I bought a 3.5 gallons beta fish tank and some live aquatic plants and gravel. This was a very fun science lesson for my kids, highly recommend if you plan on spending extra money to make a live animal a family pet.

Buy this for your kids!
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: One of the tadpoles didn't make it. However, the other one is now the cutest little baby frog!Such a cool kit! Tadpoles arrived alive and very healthy and active. Even though the brochure said they might not move or eat for the first day they were swimming around and eating immediately after we transferred them into their tank. My kids were very excited!

Tadpoles arrived alive and healthy!
My kids were so excited for this "Science experiment" (aka, sweet new froggy pets) and I have to admit, so was I, but I was skeptical that they would survive transport and delivery. Well, the whole kit, including "Ivy" and "Thunder", our 2 new tadpoles, was exceptionally well packaged, I opened packaging after packaging and there they were, swimming around in a little plastic bag of water. The instructions were thorough, and I think we're going to learn a whole lot about life systems from these two little guys. We're happy and excited to watch their growth and development right before our eyes. Excellent product! One thing I will say though, is that I was kind of under the impression that we could raise them and then release them, but the instructions say, no, do not release them into the wild. Having been fed, they will not know how to hunt for themselves and won't make it. It also said that these frogs have a 5 year life-expectancy...so I guess we will have frogs for 5 years now, lol. That's something I wish I had known before purchasing. They will be well-cared for and well-loved, but I didn't realize I was getting myself into a 5 year commitment when I hit "Buy now", lol. It would have been good to know. Still happy to see the joy on my kids' faces though! They are so excited!

Bad experience. Ordered 2 tadploes. They died after 2 weeks. Ordered a third. Died in 2 days.
I first ordered the two tadpoles, tank, food and water treatment for my 5 yr old grandson. He was so excited. I followed EVERY instruction to the letter. Our weather was in the 70's, so it wasn't the blame. Both tadpoles seemed healthy when they arrived. One lived for one week and they other for another week. Both died within two weeks. The company would not replace them. I ordered and paid for a third. It died within 5 days. Again, our weather was cool and perfect for mailing. Again, I followed every instruction exactly. I told the company about the third one dying. All they could suggest is using spring water the next time. They have not tried to make this situation better and my grandson is so sad. I've raised a lot of animals and reptiles. It's not like I don't know what I'm doing. I paid great attention to these tadpoles. There is no reason they should have died. This is definitely a rip off. I give warning to anyone wanting to buy these. I would love to see an update from everyone else who commented when they first received their tadpoles. I would bet that they did not survive to frog hood. Now I'm out almost $50, an empty tank, lots of tadpole food and water treatment, plus one broken hearted 5 yr old. : (

quick delivery and healthy tadpoles
This kit included everything you need to raise 2 leopard frogs. The tadpoles were healthy and in really good condition. The instructions were clear and complete. Very neat activity for kids. Be aware that frogs can live quite a while and are harder to care for than the tadpoles when making this commitment.

Complete kit, great customer service
Thumbs up! Received our kit last week and so far so good! We received two big healthy looking tadpoles, a plastic tank, food, water treatment drops and a couple fake plants. So really just about everything you need until they develop lungs. At that point you need to revamp your tank so the frogs can climb out of the water. One (upper) corner of our tank was damaged but the company replaced it super fast.

So far so good!
We received our tadpoles in the mail about 4 days ago, we ordered 4 & now have 3 left that seem to be doing well (one died after being added to the tank). They are all very active and have been eating since day 1. I do frequent water changes (partial every other day & full change one time per week) as the water gets cloudy with 3 in there. One is significantly bigger than the others so I am unsure if it is older than the other two.
