Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Vol. 11

Yeah, yeah, Love is War is back, and it's still as good as ever. We have some new relationship problems to deal with, coach Chika is made to suffer anew, the Student Council engages in lies and debauchery, and you know the drill by now. Some returning jokes are all the funnier when paired with the new characters, and our protagonists are finally becoming a little more honest with each other, with some goals being set in terms of love.But who cares about all that? Hayasaka, the best girl in everything, gets some emotional development, and proves that no matter what she does, she's adorable. I want a spin-off regarding Hayasaka's daily turmoil in the Shinomiya household.That aside, this volume is a little on the weaker side in terms of translation. There's some #MeToo and other, frankly out of place, allusions that really detracted from the story on the page. Either some editors just gave up, or else politics desire to ruin one more manga. Okay, it's not that extreme, but the little references are completely unnecessary, and I hope it is curtailed later.

The actual plot, the structure of the panels, and the drawings, are excellent. However, every single official release pails in quality to fan translations. At times the translation doesn't properly capture the physical expression in the panel, or outright misleads and suggests something other than what was really said. There is a rap chapter in this volume that you should simply look up the fan translation for.A quick example of changing meanings in the translation. Chika is a conservatively raised Japanese girl that mistakenly thinks two people are gay. In the original dialogue, Chika is confused, but excited (shown by the aroused nosebleed), and unsure if she's supposed to be disapproving. This official translation expresses none of that, and actually has her proclaim that she wants to see them do it. The translator has literally removed dimensions from the character.

This is one of my top three favorites in ongoing series (joined by Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Monster Musume) and Kaguya-sama's 11th volume was superb. It starts with a funny tale of Kaguya not quite understanding how her new smartphone works. Ishigami seems to be caught between his comfortable loner role and having attractions to several of the series' females. My own favorite chapter has Miyuki teaching Chika about rap and for someone like me, who's never gotten into that genre, it proved a good tutorial. It leads into a funny and touching tale about Hayasaka. We see return appearances of Kaguya's cousin and Miyuki's dad, working their brands of mischief and we meet Hayasaka's mom. It also seems Miyuki might be ready for a major step in his life. As I said above, this is an absolutely first-rate volume of a great series.

Kaguya-sama is a fantastic manga. This volume is one of my favorites so far. We get a deeper dive into some of Shirogane's views on authenticity. Some hilarious misunderstandings also occur. So as usual for this manga, it's very funny while also portraying characters with great depth.Volume 10 had some pretty glaring errors in the text that Viz didn't catch, but this volume seems to have none of those, though I can't comment on translation accuracy. The art looks good too. So yeah, I'm happy with this volume.

Volume 11 has been out of stock for months! I was so happy when I saw it was back in stock because I haven't been able to find it anywhere! It arrived in perfect condition too

if you are looking for comedy and a good story, this manga is for you!

Llegó en tiempo y en excelentes condiciones. Ya llevo tiempo comprando los mangas y no han presentado ningún daño o defecto. NO VIENEN EN BOLSA como otros mangas. Es importante mencionarlo.

Vol 11 takes it up yet another notch and is perhaps the best volume yet.

Loved this volume. It was funny and i loved how it explained the diffrent charecters Hayasaka plays.
