Lovelight Magic

I usually don’t order paper back books because they don’t last well around young kids and I use my books to teach Pre-K kids social emotionsl learning. I couldn’t find this one in hardcover so order the paperback. The packaging was just a flimsy plastic envelope so the book came a bit creased and marked. I love the subject of the book and the photos and illustrations are good. Just wish it came in a sturdier version.

This is an exquisite little book. Its simplicity carries a profound message, so deep it brings tears to the eyes of adults and lights a smile of understanding in the eyes of a child. The poetry is sweet and direct and the illustrations add a visual layer to the meaning of each page. The contrast of tones both in color and in the message give a texture to the message that resonates with children at all levels of understanding. My teenage grandsons enjoyed it as much as a four year old. This book not only brings a sense of tranquil joy to the reader but ignites the "lovelight" in each of us to spread peace in meaningful ways in our individual lives. This book is indeed a gift worth giving to children of all ages.

I used this book in my 2nd grade classroom. We had a wonderful discussion about the author's word choices. We discussed inference and how the author used it to describe a 'lovelight' without telling us directly what it is. Also discussed how some words have different meanings to different people. The students were excited to go out into the world and show their love lights. We were able to discuss the impact to the community we might have, one light lighting another. This was a positive experience for my students, and I am hoping their families as well, as they all go out and do an act of kindness to let their light shine bright. I would recommend it for classrooms 1st-6th, as a Language Arts Lesson or within an anti bullying unit.

Written by the daughter of a friend, we've given copies of this book to our grandchildren and saved a couple for friends with young children. They all love it!

Such a lovely message to my kids and beautiful illustrations! I loved it so much I bought a few as gifts.

I purchased this book to help me with some behavioral challenges that we were experiencing with our kids and it has brought a "Lovelight" into our home. We now use the book on regular basis as a reminder that no matter how dark some days may get, there is a lovelight in each of us that continues to shine through. Our kids have stepped up to embrace the positive message in this book and our home is now a lot more peaceful. I am so thankful to find this positive tool to manage behavior. It made a real difference in our family. I have ordered two more copies for each of my child's classrooms.

Lovelight Magic is an inspiring and beautiful book for children and adults alike. The pictures are warming to the heart and well recognized by the little ones. The book has already made its way to Europe (Germany) and we are happy to have a copy in our twin’s corner library. Also serves as a great gift or keep-sake. Four children’s thumbs up!
