End Time Delusions: The Rapture, the Antichrist, Israel, and the End of the World

WARNING! Good Historicist Explanation, Written by a Cult Member
I mark this as 5 stars because it completely opened my eyes to the errors of Futurism, but I do so with reservation. I grew up in a church that only taught Futurism and I never paid the End Times subject much attention because it was scary and I figured there was nothing I could do to change it anyway so I should spend more time on eliminating the sins in my life that I knew about. Cults still study the Bible so they often have some good information in them. I think it's deplorable that so many churches today aren't willing to examine errors they may be teaching when a cult hits it closer to the mark (in this instance on this specific subject). There are other resources to recommend oh Historicism besides this book because you don't want someone drawn into a cult.Pros: Excellent, easy to read book that makes you think about scripture instead of taking a preacher's word for it if it sounds kinda accurateAbsolutely shattering logic in this book: How can ANYONE split up Daniel 9's "70 Weeks" prophecy to insert 2,000+ years?! What if a Jew said Jesus couldn't be the Christ because the first 7 weeks (which also are separated) hadn't finished yet? How could any Futurist argue with their kid if they tell them to go to bed in 70 minutes and their kid says it's the 69th minute has passed but the 70th minute is still 2,000 minutes into the future?! Futurism is utterly destroyed based on this central pillar alone. The other parts on Israel, the Antichrist, and the rapture were equally earth-shattering. Read them for yourself, it's crystal clear when we examine the Bible without our presuppositions. I would NOT be dogmatic on dates (for the end of the rule of the Papacy) as there are other interpretations, but if you ever study any Medieval History course the part about the part about the Antichrist becomes painfully obvious. Why is this all important? God wrote it for 1, so it's good to have an accurate interpretation of what he's trying to say. Secondly, it answers a skeptic's question "Where has God been all these years if he really loves us?" The truth is he's been working things out as he said he would and you can have faith in his word. Additionally it shows where our efforts need to be. There is even the Evangelicals & Catholics Together Accord which blows my mind when you realize the Catholic Church is in direct opposition to everything Protestants affirm in the Bible, that MILLIONS of Christians have been brutally slaughtered by the Catholic Church (who still affirms the same policies), and that the Catholic Church has a DIFFERENT GOSPEL condemned by the Apostle Paul in Galatians 1:8-9).Cons: MANY unnecessary words (repeats himself a lot... everything could have been said in 1/2 as many pages I'm sure)Why a cult member?-- Seventh Day Adventists (SDA) have a works-righteousness gospel. They speak Grace from 1 corner of their mouth then say the exact opposite with the other. The Investigative Judgment is a flawed interpretation of a prophecy and teaches your salvation is based on your works.-- Any church that says it's ok to hack a child to pieces, yet say others others will be damned if they don't go to church on Saturday is unthinkably confused. SDA Hospitals perform abortions with $ their church members help raise. Members of the SDA Governing Council are supported by the organization yet will not change their policies. SDA even says/implies people shouldn't speak out against abortion as a sin people need to repent & confess but sees it as a choice (read their website).-- SDA add to the Bible. Ellen G White plagiarized much of her work yet claimed she saw it in vision. Her prophecies have failed and the SDA church tries to say they were "conditional prophecies" whereas EGW's writings didn't say that and the SDA church would rightly condemn other groups if they used similar logic for their failed prophecies. God says if someone speaks for God and they tell you to serve other gods (false gospel, etc) they are to get the death penalty (Deuteronomy 13, 18, etc). It's not a minor issue when you say "Thus Sayeth the LORD" or "An angel told me" or "The Holy Spirit is telling me to tell you" etc.The Sabbath Issue, vegetarianism, annihilationism, Law of Moses & Law of God being referred to as the same thing in scripture, etc. are topics for a different day, but these issues I presented above are Non-Starters. NO amount of truth on other subjects justifies joining a church that teaches people a different gospel which will damn souls. Even if they don't "teach" it at the local church they push works-righteousness with the atmosphere and behavior. I am in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM tolerating antinomianism by saying what God said through Paul in Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." God said in 1 John 5:13 that Christians can KNOW they are saved. Etc Etc Etc. But preaching the "Perseverance of the Saints" (different connotation than "Eternal Security") is different than teaching saved by grace + sanctification = salvation or saved by grace, kept by law (Paul condemns this also in Galatians 3).

So many supporting scriptures!
My husband and I bought this book when it first came out. Steve Wohlberg has a humor to his writing that makes it so enjoyable and he backs up everything he says with scriptures! He doesn't just give the references ... He puts in the whole scripture! Well, usually. Once a portion of scripture is printed in a particular section, when he speaks of it again, he'll often just tell us which verse he's referring to by number... and he does that A LOT!I've read this aloud to my husband several times and we have given it as a gift, too. Steve quotes from the founders of our protestant faith along with so many books and historical teachers, too. I'm a stickler for the details and this is the best book I've ever seen that gives such detail. We don't know this author. This was the first book of his we ever read but we've now read several others by him. We completely trust him as much as one can trust any man (or woman!) so we feel completely comfortable... even excited... to recommend this book to you!

Alternate view of Jesus' Return
We live in a very strange time indeed- Feel good churches are growing at an astronomical rate as true bible teaching, bible believing churches are very slow in growth as, the old saying goes, 'the truth hurts'- Ther is much being taught in churches today that were completely foreign to the early church congregations, and the return of Jesus is one of them- Most church participants have grown up with the notion that Jesus will one day return to allow us to escape the coming of the antichrist and the tribulation to follow his appearance- This doctrine is very comforting to us as it allows to to go on with everyday life knowing that we really have nothing to prepare for as we will be snatched away before the coming calamities arrive- This makes for great fodder at Christian gatherings and subject matter for a novel but it is far from Biblical Truth- Somethimg not known to many, however true, is that this idea of Christians vanishing from earth before the coming of the antichrist and the tribulation period just began in the mid 1800s and has been generally accepted by the Western Church as historical truth- None of the early church fathers believed in this but thought that believers would see the antichrist and that the rapture of the church would be the same as the coming of the Lord at the end of the age! There was no mention of a two part coming of Jesus- A careful examination of scripture clearly reveals this! That is what this book is all about- It respectfully chaalenges this new doctrine shared by so many believers today- This and so many books like it have totally changed my perspective of 'end time events'- At the onset of reading books like 'End Time Delusions', I just could not accept these strange teachings as they were so much in opposition to what I had been taught since giving my life to Jesus Christ- But, after much prayer and fasting and seeking God in His truth, He began opening my eyes to this prophetic mystery- I pray that you also would open your heart and mind to what the early church taught and believed- You will find it to be much different than what you are hearing in today's pulpits!Beach

Fantastic Book
I started out this book with many preconceived ideas about the end time, this book has made me reconsider those beliefs, and subsequently change them. This book is written in an engaging easy to read style, yet it is a very thorough, systematic, and well researched treatise on the new testament passages about the end times, along with a lot of evidence from church history. The author clears the fog and haze of modern futurism enabling the reader to see the clear teachings of scripture. This is the most clear and logical book on the end times I have ever read, and I have read quite a few. I came away from the book thinking "that makes perfect sense," I would, and have already recommended it. Thank you Steve Wohlberg.

End Time Delusions
This is a fantastic book to read, it is very highly recommended, and gives an absolutely accurate and true account of' Biblical ' end times from the ' Historicist ' point of view, as opposed to all the ' Futurist ' rubbish, that is out there in the public domain today.
