Lots of detail but sadly not much of a challenge
We own a lot of games, and tend to reply on the award winning ones being a good indicator of whether we'd love the game - they are usually challenging, well made, and thought through.Wingspan is a nice game. Lovely and unusual theme too, BUT it is far too easy to pick up, and subsequently lose interest. There are plenty of strategy challenges you could give yourself - as ever it's a case of balancing resources, moves and keeping an eye on your opponents to a lesser extent. It's a pre-dinner warm-up game for those who'd usually spend an evening playing something like Agricola/Le Havre.Components: Lots of lovely quality parts (esp love the bird box dice dispenser, eggs, and the rich details on the cards), HOWEVER they have lowered the whole tone of the game with a really nasty, filmsy plastic card holder and display tray. The boxes for the eggs and tokens won't last too long, but are a nice addition that you wouldn't normally get.So... not sure why this game won the coveted Game of the Year award when the fantastic Lords of Xidit (so good we bought it for many friends too) didn't even get a mention, but it's not too bad IF you can get it for less than £50. Definitely worth a search for sensible pricing - mine may well be available on an auction site some time soon!!!

Great game
This game is interesting and educational. The concept of managing a bird/nature reserve is so original. It needs a bit of concentration to learn and I would recommend using an online demo. But it is straightforward to play. It is beautifully designed and produced. As will a lot of games it may appear expensive but if you divide the price by the number of players and times you play the cost really is tiny. My only gripe is that the European version is an extension kit to the US original, and not stand alone.

Fantastic game — a bit of a learning curve
Fantastic game — had played on tabletopia and bought this for the family. Quite complex to pick up but includes a step-by-step intro game. Really good once past the learning curve.

Complex rules to start but with a few practices should be fun.
Different types of board games but vwry fun. As a fan of wildlife I enjoy games that mixed wildlife and board games.

Would recommend this
I watched tutorials on YouTube about the gameplay and was glad to be able to buy it for retail price! The game came a lot earlier than expected and was in great condition. All the pieces were undamaged and easy to organise within the box.Haven't played yet, but looking forward to it!

Superb
Superb game. Easily to learn, quick to play (even with 5 players) and a satisfying level of complexity in the later part of the game. Wife loves it and have played many 2 player games lasting 25-30 mins. High quality production too.

Good product good service but buy local is you can
Great gameplay. So much kit for your pound, it’s hard to fit it all back in the box (a positive) and it’s all so beautifully made and put together
