My voice teacher suggested that I buy this collection. And I am very glad that I did! I have just begun to explore its many riches. There is the opportunity to sing solos at my church, and being a bass, it is usually difficult to find music that fits my range. This collection has lots suited to my voice.I have started off with Dvorak's "God is my shepherd" (basically the 23rd psalm, of course an old favorite among church-going folk). Having pretty much gotten that one into my voice, I have now moved on to his two settings of "Hear my prayer." Already enjoying those, and looking forward to learning more of these wonderful pieces.There are also a number of pieces among the spirituals included in this collection that I will be exploring - love "Balm in Gilead" for example. So as you can see, there is a wealth of good music for people with low voices included in this collection.

This is such a great collection! There’s a little something for everyone and we have discovered some really nice arrangements. I also own it in the low voice. I’m a Mezzo but some pieces just feel more comfortable in the higher key.

I was looking for a collection for church offertories. There are several in this collection that will work nicely. Some of the selections are not in the best range for low voice, rather medium voice. Some accompaniments are unusual.

This is a great book. A wonderful resource for any church musician. A gave three stars because the book I received is significantly damaged.

This is an excellent collection of sacred songs for the voice student or soloist.

Excellent collection for the serious singer looking to have a number of often-used selections in a single volume.

This is hands down one of the most important books a young singer can invest in. There's so much to love and it's great to have the basics all together. The volume features a lot of the big hits that every working singer needs to know as well as some thoughtful arrangements of hymns that really bring them up to the level of quality vocal solos. My teacher and I were very impressed and I think she'll be purchasing a copy as well. It's great for on the go work such as weddings and is a nice compliment to the Walters Oratorio Anthology.
