Purchased this to find a broken cable, I have two line continuity testers, the other one says broken line, so I connected this and got a solid red light so assume this means all good, well the instructions don’t say , it mentions a green light well that does not show, sending it back.

Does the job as described
As with several other reviewers, I bought this because I had a break in my robot lawnmower perimeter wire.I removed one end of the perimeter wire and connected it to the red clip on the transmitter, I then pushed a metal screwdriver into the ground and attached the black transmitter to that.Tracing the wire (which by now is slightly below my lawn surface) was little fiddly at times, but within ten minutes I had found the break in the wire. Two minutes later and the break was fixed and "Moby" was happy again!So this tool did exactly what I needed it for.It's a tad cheap and plasticky, and needs two PP3 batteries to run, but it did the job for me.So much faster and easier than digging up all wire to find the break.

Robotic lawnmower cable
Great tool to track the cables for robotic lawnmowers. I’ve spent hours doing this manually or with an AM radio but this tools solves it within minutes!

Bought to track down broken perimeter wire for robot mower but unfortunately, this didn’t work at all. Not sure if this was a faulty unit but I’ve returned without an issue.

Found the rabbit damage in my mower cable loop
Worked to find the rabbit-gnawed hole in the boundary loop for my robot mower. The receiver was less sensitive/ precise than I hoped and the loudspeaker was a bit faint. PP3 batteries (you need two) are a nuisance.But it was cheapest on Amazon, and it found the damage in a 1000m cable loop, and not where I was expecting it. I'm glad I bought it.
