Two Renegade Realms (Realm Walkers)

The struggle isn't in deciding if I liked it- I did
I've been trying to figure out how I will write this review since I finished the book Sunday night. The struggle isn't in deciding if I liked it- I did. And I will reread it. Where I'm stuck is Two Renegade Realms, while having a very clear start and finish, feels so much like the middle of a story. I turned the last page and thought 'well yes, but what happens next?'It doesn't feel fitting and right to give a review now, because the story doesn't feel over yet! That said, I will try. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. I enjoy how thoroughly different the world is for our heroes-- yet how alike. Donita K Paul has a rare gift for dropping in truths that subtly seep into the pages without being over coming the story with a sense of 'And Now I will Teach You Something'.Oftentimes fantasy is an escape. Sometimes that escape can lead to looking upon your own life and everything feeling grey. I think I figured out what makes Donita K Paul's books different. And actually, when I was younger, it was something that annoyed me. In all of her books the characters will stop and have a meal. Attention is paid to meals, clothing, care for others. I remember reading one of her books and the characters are just about to save the day!....and they stop and have a picnic. When I first read it I was gesturing on the inside 'they're right there! Why are you waiting!?'. But now I think I understand. The real magic isn't in a dragon that can turn into a ball of yarn, but in sitting with friends and enjoying a meal. In delighting in new lace for a skirt. Small moments shared with those around you. And that is why these books are so good. But seriously, the next one needs to come out soon because I want to know what happens next.

Two Renegade Realms an Excellent Middle Book of the Realm Walkers Trilogy
I just finished Two Renegade Realms. It adds so much to the Realm Walkers Trilogy. I could not stop reading and kept telling myself "just one more chapter, just one more chapter..." Donita K. Paul is inventive in her creation of new worlds and fantastic characters (the good and the bad). This second book of the trilogy tells how Cantor, Bixby, Bridger, and many other wonderful characters (my friends) search and attempt to rescue a long list of inhabitants in the realms. Tension continues to creep up as the friends try to stop an alien invasion and destruction of a realm. Corrupt guild members simmer loudly as they make their own choices to follow their own path - away from the plan of Primen.Fraught with comedy, obstacles, tension, friendship, and character development, Two Renegade Realms is a great read. Again, I have to wait until the third installment is complete. That will require patience. Perhaps I will look for mor dragons or figure out how to have my own hamper while I wait.

Kept me on the edge of my seat
I have read many of Donita K Paul's books, and this series is a winner! I am a Grandma, but the story line pulled me in right away. This book will hold the attention of readers in their younger teens and up. I can't wait to read the third and final book in the series!

Fun
This was a fun energetic story, full of cute interesting characters that grew with each challenge they faced. Loved the humor. The strength to do good.

Captivating, fun, and heartwarming
Donita K. Paul writes her own flavor of fantasy. Her stories are captivating, fun, and heartwarming. Her characters are rich with quirkiness. The world in this particular series is fresh and innovative, a place I'd really like to visit. Two Renegade Realms is set about 2 years after the fist novel in the series (One Realm Beyond). We get to spend more time with our favorite characters - Cantor, Bridger, Duckmee, Bixby, and Totobee-Rodolow - along with meeting a couple of new additions to the crew as they puzzle out how to save the realms from an alien attack and defeat the corrupt Realm Walkers Guild.Appropriate for all audiences. Recommended for those ready for a fun read.

Donita K. Paul comes up with the most creative world-building scenarios
What's not to love about a dragon who can turn himself into almost anything, including a rock? Or having a tiara for every occasion? It was so much fun reading this book, and I hope I get to read the next installment sometime soon.

When is book three coming?! :)
In this sequel, I enjoyed the physical and emotional growth of the characters. The interaction between the characters was absolutely wonderful. The touch of romance in this book made me smile. My only issue. . .I have to wait for book three. :)

I've always loved her books and this series has been no different
I've always loved her books and this series has been no different. The storyline, characters, scenes are unique but the theme is always set on God. Who could say no to reminders of HIS goodness at all times. Wonderful for families to read together.Enjoy!

An excellent follow-up to One Realm beyond - but it still leaves questions to be answered!
