If there is a bad recipe in the is book, I have yet to find it.
So we were eating at a place called Liberty Hall Inferno in Port Aransas Texas. This place had a chef with some amazing tasting dishes, really some of the best food I have had in a long time. On the way to restrooms I passed a book shelf full of cookbooks. On that shelf, I saw 3 main publishers, America's test Kitchen, and Cooks illustrated, and food and wine. The shelf was basically full of all these publisher cook book. Now I have many of the America's test kitchen and I love them, but I have never given Food & Wine a look. But based on the awesome meal I had that night I decided that they might be worth checking out. So far I have yet to find a bad recipe in the cookbook. I especially love the Quinoa crusted salmon with a special sauce. In fact I will make that a new go to dish, but pretty much everything in this book tastes great. Descriptions of the recipes are not quite as detailed as in America's test kitchen, but they are also a little more complex. They have also marked some recipes that are notable for either quick prep time, or freeze and save, with the topic of this book being recipes for those busy nights. If I had to find one criticism with the book, it would be the first chapter, which is because they are Food&Wine they must of felt they need a wine section. The wine portion just doesn't feel like it fits with the rest of book. However that would maybe mean this book loses half a star, but I feel the recipes are so tasty (and that is really what is important in a cookbook) that it closer to 5 stars than to 4.

Great recipes and photos
Great recipes and photos ... however, do not panic (as we did) when both front and back inside covers are filled with scribbled shopping list crossed out, and annotated on. etc. This strange thing is part of the book even though the publisher does not tell you that. When we called to complain about getting a used book the gentleman on the phone told us about it being part of the book and he had gotten MANY complaints about the same issue.

Great dinner resource
Good useful cook book when I have a mental block with meal planning. Food & Wine is my style of cooking so it gets reviewed several times a week.

Tasty and Fast
I was going to give this as a Christmas gift. But before wrapping it, I decided I should look through a possibly copy a recipe or two. Next thing I knew, I had marked about half the recipes in the book, so I ordered my own copy of the book. I've made four recipes in the past few weeks - all of them winners. There are a few unusual ingredients but not too difficult to find. And all have been fairly easy/quick to make.

almost
almost perfect, however there are writings on the cover front and back. But I should be able to live with that based the cost.

easy peasy!
My girlfriends can't make a darn thing that's in here but they can surely try! Sometimes no matter how simple it is, it's not simple enough for double digit IQs.I tried one of the recipes in here though & it was the bomb. BO-MB!
