Saved my books and keeps my humidity levels around 35% lower
I bought this for my place in Southeast Texas where the humidity is always insane, 80% or higher most of the time. I was tired of all of my windows being wet with condensation every morning, after dinner or even after a shower. I had purchased a small dehumidifier for my library to keep the books from oxidizing and warping, but it took a week or more to collect even 500ml. This new one collects even more in 12 hours than my small one accomplished in 2+ weeks. It actually lowers the humidity throughout the entire place if I keep my doors open and run the fan, but it’s also only 1,000 sqft or so. It’s exactly what I needed and I’m really happy with my purchase. My humidity went from an average of 67% to 35%, and I have it set to keep it at that level. I do have to dump the water around twice a day (12 hours), but I’m always happy to because I know it’s working. My books also aren’t warped and bent anymore which is a major plus as a book collector. And I actually checked consumer reports and this really was the highest rated dehumidifier throughout all the sizes (small-large) and that was good enough for me. It’s only been three weeks, but I would definitely recommend this to anyone in a similar situation with higher than average humidity in a large space, or even someone with a large collection of books. This dehumidifier really does some work, and it’s always a shock every time I dump the water.Additional information 8/15/2023:The only downside is that it does put off a lot of heat, but that’s common when dealing with a larger unit that has a sizable compressor. The room that I use it fortunately has a ventilation fan, so I keep the fan on when running this unit. It works well to lower the heat load, especially since it’s just a few feet away from being exactly beneath the ventilation fan; and also because naturally heat rises. And, since the units output is facing upwards, that also makes the set up more efficient at removing some of the excess heat. The heat is really only a downside during the summer since I’m in Southeast Texas. For reference, the highs have been over 100 degrees for last 30 days in a row, and nightly lows are between 80-84 degrees. It also hasn’t rained the entire month of August.. it’s been brutal, even most of my grass is dead too.. but I’m getting off topic. I do recommend this unit.Update: 5/30/2022: I noticed it started leaking water, so I decided to figure out what the issue was. I found the drip line was clogged with sludge, and lots of it. Mostly from the dust and debris that slip past the filter over the last 13 months. I easily knocked all the sludge out and it was just like new. I’ve had this dehumidifier on for over a year straight, and it’s always running. To this day it still works great, and I’d still highly recommend it. My only suggestion would be to clean the sludge out of the line every 6 months or so to prevent it from leaking. Also clean the filter every week or so to prevent it from working harder than it needs to. 10/108/15/2023: Still works great, plus it hasn’t leaked since the first time it happened. I’ve kept it on 24/7 just about, the only time it’s not running is if the tank becomes full while I’m sleeping; then right as I wake up, I dump the water, and it runs from then on. I keep fan on high too, so it’s run pretty hard. Considering it was #1 on consumer reports, as well as all the other good reviews from users like myself; I think those that experience failures, and/or issues, are probably the vocal outliers. Most people only review an item, or place of business when something goes wrong, so something to keep in mind when reading these reviews. I’d still highly recommend this unit from my personal experience. I’ve spent 2.5 years with it, or rather, 30 months. It’s seriously been on full blast 95% of the the time in the last 30 months.Important please read for clarification:Amazon is combining reviews for multiple versions and/or years of this dehumidifier. Mine (50 pint) is not a smart dehumidifier. A smart version did not exist when I purchased this. So, I can’t speak for the app, because mine is analog.Based on the reviews, it seems the smart aspects are pretty lacking; if having a smart dehumidifier is non-negotiable, you may wish to find another brand with more software experience (or find one that has smart-home integration with Google Home, etc…)As far the non-smart version of this product, mine is still solid, and with regular maintenance, I haven’t had any issues after 2.5 years. Just make sure when reading the reviews, that you check to see which specific model the person is reviewing (3000 sqft, 4500 sqft, 50 pint, smart, etc...) Otherwise, you may feel misled by some of these reviews. If you want a smart dehumidifier, Consumer Reports has the “Midea 35 pint CUBE” listed as the best smart-dehumidifier, although I’m not sure why, or how it’s better than its 50 pint CUBE counterpart. However, if you’re going for smart integration, I’d probably suggest using something like Google Home, Homekit, Alexa, etc.. as your interface; so you’re not stuck operating it with proprietary software (that may, or may not get updates 1+ years after release.) If having a smart dehumidifier is important, definitely do your homework (which devices work with what, Matter integration, Zigbee, etc..)I have plenty of smart devices integrated through Google Home, such as security cameras, lightbulbs, lighting strips, thermostat, etc… but my dehumidifier isn’t one of them. I don’t feel like it’s really all that necessary for me, but I know it’s dependent on your use case. I hope this adds clarification for some of these reviews.

Best Dehumidifier We Have Ever Owned!
So far, I have to say that we are very impressed with the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built in pump. A couple of years ago, we learned that we were having humidity problems in our home when conduit condensation literally melted through part of our basement ceiling. After three years with a different brand's loud, ugly model, we started looking for a better solution (aka not buying just anything as an emergency response). During our hunt, a work friend of mine recommended the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built-in pump. I will be blunt, I didn’t really get why we needed the pump but when my husband (an engineer) saw the product on Amazon, he told me to order it immediately since he thought it would fix all of our problems. Boy was he right!Typically, we have a dehumidifier running 24/7 as much as possible during the summer months – one built-in in the basement and one upstairs. After the ceiling incident, our A/C guy recommended we never let the humidity get above 50% or it would probably happen again. Even with their professionally installed dehumidifier in the basement, our upper floors would typically stay at 60% if we used nothing more, and the upstairs (noisy) one struggled to maintain 47 – 50% humidity in our 2400 square foot home. After setting up the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built in pump for a little over a day, we had something happen that baffled us – the dehumidifier was running with just the fan. We at first thought something was wrong until we looked at the unit and our home thermostat – our humidity was at 39%! This has literally never happened during the summer since we purchased our house. All of this within a 24 hour period! After a week of running in our home, the air quality in our home is even better, with me not needing some of my allergy medications (I work from home so that's mostly where my allergies trigger). It isn't an exaggeration to say it thoroughly beat our expectations. What I have to say is another major plus is the built in pump. Not having to constantly worry about emptying the bucket twice a day has been a major relief - the pump just drains through a line into our first floor bathroom sink. I want to say this happened about 3 to 4 times the first day (before it had lowered the upstairs humidity), and has dropped to 2-3 times a day after that. It activates for less than 30 seconds, but I won't lie, the unit is a bit loud for that time. However, compared to hauling and dumping the old one's bucket - and hoping it doesn't spill while moving through the house - it's just so much better. The only "drawback" is that I no longer have a bucket of water ready for watering my deck flowers – darn!Setting up the drain line for the pump was the hardest part of the entire setup - quite literally screwing the hose to the back. Empty the box and the parts in the bucket, position, and go (5 minutes or less for everything).Overall, the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built in pump might be the best $350 we ever spent on our home and health. It is stylish, performs above our expectations, and runs fairly quiet compared to our old dehumidifier (which is impressive when we moved it to our two story open hallway with echo issues). After turning off our other units, we're saving time and money, AND enjoying peace of mind when we travel, knowing humidity will no longer be an issue in our home!

Works well, reasonably quiet.
We use the dehumidifier to help keep the moisture in our music room more even, to help the piano stay in tune.
