Q: Whats the difference between this and the acratech panoramic and tilt head?

They are very similar. There is a little difference in the construction of the top piece. However, the largest difference is the addition of a degree scale on the tilt axis. There is also the addition of adjustable zero pointers on the Pan axis.

Q: Can i use a monfrotto style plate on this head?

It is an arca type plate which some Manfrotto tripods use but be aware that some Manfrotto trips use their own standard quick release plate. However you can change the plate attachment on many Manfrotto heads

Q: What is maximum PayLoad?

Industry Outsider gear reviewer said, "A quick check online revealed that the latest Canon 600mm weighs just over 8 pounds. Nikon has two, one which is in the 8 pound range, the other more than 12 pounds.". Acratech founder says this head is rated for this size/class of lenes. That's as close as I could get to an answer, via a quick internet search. Anecdotally, I do use mine ALL the time, sometimes leaving it set up in the outdoor elements, without any concern, whatsoever; it stays clean and smoothly functional, and has developed NO weakening of the tightening controls or panning lock-screw.
