The other reviews make it clear how helpful this book is to a reader wanting to learn the "how to" so I won't repeat that. What I will note is how fun it was to read. Jeff's breezy style kept me interested the whole way without sacrificing the quality of what I was learning. And the initial positioning that being an editor in this space is really being a creator -- a writer in fact -- got me jazzed from the get go. A book I will always keep at the ready.

I'm so grateful that this book was put out it's exactly what I needed to hear. It's help me a lot to understand my job. And it's help me move forward with my career.

A Bible for reality tv editing. Excellent buy.

I teach graduate and undergraduate editing classes and this book is so helpful to my students as they learn to think about how incredibly important editing is to the story telling process. Jeff Dawson is an excellent teacher and even though I have been editing professionally for many years I learn something every time I open this book.

This book is the bible for anyone who wants to nail down a solid and fruitful gig in the biz. It's an easy read thats loaded with helpful tips from the rookie to veteran editor. I'm a mid-level editor and plan to have this book next to me in my editing suite at all times for a quick reference. Next thing you know I'll be living the the Hollywood Hills as well.

You can go to film school and blow a ton of cash and never learn one-percent of what this easy to read and easy to understand book reveals about becoming and being a reality TV editor. Buy it if you are currently working in the industry or want to know how to get your start in it.
