Fantastic tool. Works perfectly!
After reading some of the negative reviews, I was hesitant to buy this rivet gun. It's so cheap! Something MUST be wrong with it, right? NO. This is an incredible deal on a heavy duty, well made tool. It even comes with five different sizes of rivets (10 each), five different sized nose piece tips and a little wrench to change them out!I used it like many here, to replace a window regulator in my vehicle (2003 Mercedes ML350). The OEM Mercedes dealer rivets are Stainless Steel and need a powerful tool to install them. All four rivets went in with two pumps. The first set the rivet, the second broke off the shaft and ejected it into the catch cup. Every time. Super easy! The only reason I can come up with for the bad reviews is they were using the wrong size rivets in the wrong size nose piece. If you try to cram a large rivet into a small nose piece, I can see it getting stuck inside. But, if you pay attention to the sizes, and choose the correct nose piece, this gun works fantastic.I will admit that when I first got it, I couldn't find the extra nose pieces and thought they must be missing. Then after looking closer realized they are screwed into the handle on both sides! D'oh! At first glance they look like nuts holding the handles on. You don't change the entire nose piece, only the TIP! I wonder how many negative reviews were caused people not realizing this and using the wrong size rivets in the stock tip?

Decent tool for the money
After setting the rivets, most of the pins had to be pushed through or pulled back out of the nose. The shaft of the pins were to scarred up to allow them to fall through to the catch bottle. Other than that, the gun worked great on my larger diameter rivets.

Good quality.
Works great for me but only used for small jobs but I think it would handle big jobs with no issues.

Pros Obviously the price Sturdy, Feels well designed especially at the price
SummaryThe most affordable well made riveter money can buy, I scoured amazon and several hardware store sites and this is the one with the highest overall rating. It matches up against a much more expensive riveter that a friend has, think his 60 $ vs my 20 $ at the time of my review.ProsObviously the priceSturdy, Feels well designed especially at the price !!!It functions with no issues, i've already used it to install 6 1/8th inch rivets.I also did a test on the 1/4th inch rivet and while i had to be much more forcefull than the 1/8th it wasn't as hard as others had saidConsThe smell.... But a little bit of off gassing is to be expected so i would suggest you leave it outside or in a well ventilated area.I suspect they didn't use a decent quality oil on the moving joints of the tool, But as another reviewer said this is quickly and easily remedied by adding a little of your own presumably decent quality lubrication.Hope this helps, And ignore that it kind of comes off as a "car only" riveter... That's just horrible marketing on the sellers part.... I used this to reassemble my computer case after having taken it apart/painting it and it worked wonderfully for that.

Well made
Works great! It was a bit hard to actuate on the 1/4" steel rivets i used, but that's to be expected from a manually operated gun.

Functional, low cost (not low quality) (Chinese Manuf.) tool
Functional, low cost tool.Metal/steel construction is sturdy and appears/feels that it should be useful and long lasting for the hobbyist and occasional use mechanic. I would not recommend to the professional mechanic except in prior said application. The plastic parts (catch bottle and hard plastic attaching cap) did not survive shipping from the supplier/manufacturer and although an inconvenience, and I would like a replacement part(s) for the tool, it will not hinder the function of the tool other than the loss as a waste pin catch bottle and is not worth sending back to the supplier. If the supplier reads this review, please contact me to arrange a replacement part for the tool. I will raise the overall review one star. (If the tool came undamaged from the start, I would have given a 4.5-5 star review)As for a picture, the product picture is the same as the tool sent.

Works well.
There's only so much you can say about a rivet gun, honestly. There are five sizes of tips that you have to swap out, depending on the size of the rivets you're using, and the device works quickly.I've used the 'old' style 90 degree riveters before, and I have to say that this style is FAR more efficient. Dropped about a dozen rivets in my truck bed on the weekend, and they all closed up and snapped off in one motion. Really like the little catch can for the rivet stems. Saves having to pick them up constantly while you're working. The action on this is pretty smooth. If you use the wrong size tip, the stems CAN get a little stuck sometimes - but just giving the handles a couple of pumps (and screwing in the right size tip) should make it drop out.Glad I bought this one. Great price, works well for my needs.

Nice and powerful
Can easily handle 4.8mm stainless rivets, but I have found you need to select the mandrel one size up, to ensure the sheared pin will release and drop into the hopper.

Surprisingly well built, keeps going strong
I have bought other riveters that look just like this, but started to jam after about 50 rivets, so we ended up buying a new one every couple months. We use this out in the field a few times a week, and after over 150 rivets, its still working great. Collector cup is very handy to catch the used mandrels. Of all the others I've tried, the build quality on this one is the best. Will definitely buy again. If this one ever fails that is.

Gun comes with rivets
Good price compared to what the auto supply store wanted for a similar gun. Gun come with 5 different sizes of rivets. I bought 1/4 inch rivets because I thought the rivets never came with the gun.I used the gun to put 4 - 1/4 inch rivets on a window regulator. Worked fine but the only thing I don't like about it is you have to apply excessive force to break off 1/4 inch rivets.

Affordable and Gets the Job Done
Needed a rivet gun to fix my Uplander rear seats. This riveter handled the work readily, without breaking the bank. The tool itself doesn't carry the Dorman Brand Logo, so my guess is they are selling a re-branded product.
