Warning: this book has historical inaccuracies
Wow, I gave up considering buying this book after browsing through the pages and just seeing error after error pop up. Just big howlers that suggest poor research into the history.Two quick examples:P306, "by the late 1960s, CAI had already begun to fade." Utterly untrue.P307, says NSF gave $10 million in 1971 "to two private companies, Control Data Corporation (CDC) and Mitre Corporation". Not true. PLATO was developed at the University of Illinois and NSF gave the money to that university, not to CDC. CDC never got NSF money.
