The Mueller Report
J**E
I've been waiting for this since the investigation started. Nice to have it on my Kindle.
This report is succinct, to be trusted and is an eye-opener. I guess I was confused as to what the obstruction of justice was about. I thought, erroneously, that it was President Trump trying to obstruct any transparency into his tax returns, his Trump organization, his continued participation in his many financial avenues and his active, working intent on building a Trump Tower in Russia up through June 2016 - well after he was named nominee of the Republican Party. Terribly unethical. But, if he were to have been honest about it, maybe it wouldn't have been such a negative mark on his trustworthiness. My awakening and NEW understanding of Volume 2 (if you are interested:: Trump was obstructing justice into the investigation of Russia's ATTACK on our democracy by interfering in our election process!!! Along with the things I initially thought was the "deal". WHY ON EARTH would a President, any president, who swore an oath to the Constitution of the United States, to protect the American people, interfere with a very serious investigation on how it happened and what we can do in the future to prevent it from happening again??? WHAT?! (SMH) One would think that a President SHOULD be cooperating, for the sake of the country and our pillars of democracy.. What in the hell does he have to hide? Obviously something, if not many things...because he sure has been doing things that Russia is pleased about. Does that mean he's indebted to Russia/Putin in some way? I realize there was not enough evidence to fit the definition of CONSPIRACY and to charge him for it...but he and his campaign sure as hell DID "collude" w/the Russians (happily asking for and accepting negative info on Hillary) to help his campaign and to help elect him president. Well, that worked, to the Russians glee! After reading this report (Volume 1 was more difficult to read and keep up with), my opinion is that he is more than likely an illegitimate president. Crazy to even consider, right?! But it's the only explanation for the Russian's help and his grateful acceptance of it...and sharing of polling data in critical electoral college states. Trump won the election by a small margin of 77,000 votes spread over key electoral college states. That clinched it. He'll do it again. He'll used Russia, NK and China to help him try to win 2020. SIDE NOTE: As I write this review, I am seeing that the POTUS was interviewed in the Oval Office and stated, in no uncertain terms, that he would gladly accept (and wouldn't call the FBI), if he was offered negative information on his rival, from a foreign country!!! WHAT?! Didn't we just go through this 2 year Mueller Investigation, only to have Trump "snub" it and do it again "cause he can". (It's more than obvious that he thinks he's above the law!)Can I say that Volume 2 blew my socks off?! There are at least 10 documented acts of Obstruction of Justice. Just alarming! Didn't he say, during his campaign that he would be a "law and order President"?! I have now come to the educated opinion that we MUST begin Impeachment Hearings immediately! That way he cannot obstruct all subpoenas, Congress can get access to more information, with less struggle. I wasn't "there" on Impeachment - but HE has led us there!! So, I sure as hell am 1000% behind Impeachment NOW! I don't know how many folks have researched their ancestry...but I personally have upwards of 35 DIRECT ancestors who fought for and gave their lives for our hard-fought democracy. Lest we forget that history?! Do we really want to lose the liberty and freedom that that democracy entitles us?! Trump is pulling at the threads of our democracy...most in plain view, but some in "secret". Pulling on these threads can lead to an unraveling of our political norms, laws and our ability for checks and balances. Fact: There have been many a country, in the 21st century, that has fallen into an autocracy or dictatorship! Frightening! Let's NOT be one of them!! I'm begging those who have not read this...please read it...or listen to it on Audible. I know we are all busy in our lives and often can barely find time to sleep. Do NOT believe the propaganda from Trump and his cronies when he says "NO obstruction.. NO Collusion". It is a blatant lie. That's in black & white in the report. Also please be wary of watching and listening to opinion-based media (especially prime time Fox - Hannity, Tucker, Laura). They are NOT honest purveyors of the news. They invite division in an already divisive country. Take the time to listen and read to neutral news media...NPR, Al-Jazeera, BBC, etc. We are ALL Americans, who only want the best for America. Let's try to discuss our differences in a calm, rational, respectful way. This is important. Really important.

If not everyone should read the report, at least all members of Congress should do so.
I feel I've now done my duty as a member of Congress (oh, wait..) and read the complete Mueller Report. The biggest take-away for me: most of the big picture items have been known to us paying attention this whole time thanks entirely to the diligence and doggedness of the incredible reportage of The Washington Post, The New York Times, Natasha Bertrand and others. All the calls of 'Fake News' by the White House and its minions and enablers fall as failing and untrue in the face of overwhelming evidence that our electoral system was unquestionably under attack by members and associates of the Russian government. The dozens of indictments concerning that activity, despite their being prosecutions that will never see incarcerations of those criminals responsible is apparently not enough evidence for the Senate to take steps to protect our electoral process from further and ever more extensive invasions and incursions. On this point, the Report was incredibly clear, despite all the redactions: we were attacked, the attacks will continue unless steps are taken. One can be astonished by Jared Kushner's assertion that the Russian attack on our Democracy was merely a matter of 'a few Facebook ads', but no more so than one can by the GOP Senate's refusal to take positive steps that it not happen again. As to collusion, or to use the appropriate term of art, conspiracy, there was, according to Mueller, inadequate evidence to pursue such convictions as would seem appropriate, but on the face of it, only because the Trump campaign was The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight. They were truly too ignorant to have pursued active conspiracy. Most frustrating to may of us was Mueller's decision not to pursue action against Trump for Obstruction of Justice, of which there is here presented overwhelming evidence of action, intent, nexus, etc. Robert Swan Mueller III has always been a straight shooter, always by the book, and his acquiescence to DoJ and Office of Legal Counsel protocols (not, by the way, established law) that a sitting President* can not be indicted led him to his declination decision, leaving AG Barr Barr Jinx to proclaim the wholly disingenuous exoneration, despite Mueller's explicitly stating that the report did NOT exonerate. We are now, it seems to me, in a race against the clock. Alarm bells are strong here:"A possible remedy through impeachment for abuses of power would not substitute for potential criminal liability after a President leaves office. Impeachment would remove a President from office, but would not address the underlying culpability of the conduct or serve the usual purposes of the criminal law...Impeachment is also a drastic and rarely invoked remedy, and Congress is not restricted to relying only on impeachment, rather than making criminal law applicable to a former President, as OLC has recognized. 'Recognizing an immunity from prosecution for a sitting President would not preclude such prosecution once the President's term is over or he is otherwise removed from office by resignation or impeachment.'"Barr and the White House are playing the long game, stringing out their obstructive unwillingness to provide testimony and evidence, perhaps hoping that the next election will again be interfered with and Trump will be reinstalled by nefarious means, the GOP Senate will have been complicit in leaving the flood gates of interference and invasion open, and putting Trump beyond the reach of the law due to the statutes of limitations on his high crimes and misdemeanours.Mueller came out recently to basically say to Congress: read the report. All the noise generated by Trump et alia is just a horrifying testament to his contention, quite well established, that nobody who ought to will read the Report and will instead take his tweets for truth.Mueller also stated, in the report but also underlined in his rare public pronouncement, that Congress should do its job:"...we concluded that Congress can validly make obstruction-of-justice statutes applicable to corruptly motivated official acts of the President without impermissibly undermining his Article II functions."We are living in lawless times, in my view, and our disappointment in the lack of fire-breathing zealotry on behalf of Justice should not blind us to the overwhelming evidence of continuing wrongdoing that the Special Counsel lays out in the Report. Luckily, the diligent perseverance of the press, friend and fearless advocate for truth and the American people will continue to hold a clear mirror to these days.

The truth is what is important
Very interesting. Mueller and his committee left no stone unturned. Book had to be read in segments in order to keep all the facts straight. It took awhile to read and digest it all but at the end it proved to be very well researched and validated. I have no doubts about Mueller's findings. I am glad I took the time to read it.

Damaged item
I was looking forward to listening to my new audio book about the mueller report and to my surprise when I opened the box i found that the item was damaged but the packaging it came in, was not. With a total price of $47.98 (£37.92), I am quite upset about the damage, and I cannot simply change the case because the paper insert is also damaged.

What’s next
I would like to know where does this report mention about “no collusion, no obstruction” which I could not find. So, I am wondering if Mr.Trump has read this or not.I am very interesting to see what will happen next, how this country to recover it’s democracy and who, among the Republicans, to stand up.
