Adolescent Health Care: A Practical Guide 5th Edition

This is a great book, used it for my Nursing for adolescents course. Covers the specific contexts that are important to remember when caring for this population. Would recommend.

Just what I needed

Overall, a decent reference, but dryly-written. Please, tell me why there is not a single color photo or illustration in the book? Not even in the dermatology chapter? I guess the publisher saved a bundle by only printing it in black and white. And it could definitely use more illustrations overall, especially in the orthopedic chapters, where it would be helpful to have more visual teaching materials (e.g., maneuvers to diagnose knee pain).In this day and age, it is downright criminal to not have an online learning center or CD that accompanies the book, with materials (including quizzes) that reinforce the chapters in the book. I could not believe there was no supplemental online or CD material for this expensive textbook. Again, an example of the publisher being a cheapskate.The addition of outside website information in each chapter does not make this book much better, in my opinion. Websites change frequently, and anyone with decent Google skills -- and smart enough to be studying medicine in the first place -- can find good-quality information on the internet.

This textbook on adolescent medicine is a comprehensive resource for the general pediatrician. It is thorough, yet written in a manner that is easy to understand for all practitioners dealing with adolescents. It is a book every general pediatrician should have on their shelf.

Received this book within a week and love it as a reference. It is in excellent condition!
