I have installed the K&N brand air filters on many different vehicles over the years. I recently had a warranty claim, their customer service was excellent with replacing the filter with a new product. K&N is the original innovator of high performance reusable air filters. They have many applications for all types of vehicles on road and off road. They are a good value and perform very well under many driving conditions on and off road.

Exterior diameter is smaller than OEM for a 1996 land cruiser or lx450 but it seems to fit

I use these on most of my vehicles, including a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. I like the idea of reusing the filter and the increased airflow. But the result I achieved on my 1995 Toyota LandCruiser was nothing short of amazing. I run a ScanGauge II on this rig, and my average city mpg jumped from 10 to 13-15. Nice boost! And a 30 to 50% increase in mileage is going to make the payback come quickly. Apparent power jumped as well.

I purchased this filter because I needed a new one and this one was almost as cheap as a regular replacement, so I went for the better quality product and I am very happy with it. I immediately noticed the difference in power and gas mileage. My Landcruiser is a 1993 and hadn't had a replacement in a while, and this filter was a vast improvement. It was easy to install and seems to really help all the way around. I was worried because it seemed smaller than the filter I replaced with this, but I think the extra space around it allows for even better air flow. Can't beat it for the price.
