This is my first tactical pen. It's okay at the under $6 I paid for it. After handling it I'm not a fan of the glass breaker location. Personally I would prefer they left the glass breaker off and just went with a flat or rounded top instead. The pen is solidly built and writes well. The knurling adds good texture for gripping. The pocket clip feels sturdy as well. I bought this pen to try out tactical pens so I could figure out what features are worth paying for. I think I prefer the ones with the removable caps as opposed to the twist to open like this one. This will still get the job done.I have purchased a second tactical pen from Practical Tactical. I prefer the Practical Tactical tactical pen but it runs about twice as much as this one. My new pen is slimmer, and fits nicely in my pocket. I often forget it's there. My favorite difference between the two is that the top of the new pen isn't sharp and getting caught on things all the time.

Large diameter of 14.6mm and about 6" long so it is a big pen. Not too heavy at 1.7 ounces with ink cartridge installed due to being made of aluminum with no visible plastic. Per many reviews of the same pen, based on photos, it has a substantial failure rate where it no longer advances or retracts the ink cartridge and will no longer open. If mine fails I will be revising this review based on my failure analysis but mine is well machined and finished, particularly considering the price, and includes a tungsten steel glass breaker, missing on some of the competition per reviews. I hope mine is reliable as I really like the basic design. It looks aggressive enough so I would not try to get it by TSA as a on person carried item.

There are a bunch of pens identical to this on the web and Amazon and I have bought several, some for me and some as gifts. Besides logos, the difference I find between most of them is that some have a hardened tip for glass breaking at the cap and others just have that shape with no hardening and I doubt they would function as intended. This one has the hardened tip and comes in a nice little gift box. The ink cartridge is black ballpoint. The pens use a standard Parker refill style cartridge and I find they write the best with a Parker Gel Quink refill. Unlike other gel inks it doesn't smear as you write and it makes a big pen write smoothly.

Needed a good EDC pen but didn't want to spend more than $20. I saw this along with a few others and just decided to take chance. The tactical angle for me is the (curent) durability. I work in a warehouse and need good pen that won't brrak or leak in my front pocket, which happens with all the other pens I've used. I would recommend this pen to others (follow up too come).

i use it everyday at work. not that the plastic pens didn't do a fine job already. this was an impulse, no regrets. i did have to put a better o-ring in it because it was closing on me as i wrote. other than that, i'm happy.

Little thicker than what I thought it was gonna be. Writes good, twist to get ink out, could be a different mechanism. If you twist to much pen starts to come apart. Other than that really good pen. I like it.

Many alternatives! I purchased three pens paying $5, $8.50 and $14. All three are so close to identical it’s ridiculous! Very minimal differences between the three. Most noticeable: The $5 had one ink refill, the $14 had 2, the $8.50 had 4. Hope this helps! I’m happy with all 3 even though out of the box the only difference is the name plate stamp (this one is blank: generic?). I’m ok with that.

This was what I was looking for. It's solid without being a brick, fits nicely in my hand, and I'm sure it will do what I need it to. I was a little leery because of the low price, but I was not disappointed. I also ordered one as a gift and they're happy with it as well.
