Good pH Tester
After doing a good bit of research I decided to purchase this pH tester based on the low price. The calibration solutions and storage solutions that are nessicary for proper maintainance of this tester are inexpensive. When you do a lot of pH testing with solutions that are a constant temperature, ie: room temperature solutions instead of boiling or almost frozen solutions, it is very accurate and saves time when compared to using pH drops and money over the long term when compared to using strips. It is very accurate once calibrated. I have recommended this model to others. Amazon shipped this product to me and it arrived 4 days earlier than they had estimated.

Good meter at this price point
This meter is much better designed than competitive products (see also my review of the Milwaukee Instruments pH600AQ pH Tester). The ergonomics are much better. It has a switch that can be set to continuously read and has the calibration screws mounted on the side. This allows you to hold the instrument with one hand and adjust the settings on the side while being able to read the display continuously. This makes calibration easy and precise. The meter has two point calibration at 4 and 7.I use this instrument to measure pH during mashing. I use Bru’n Water spreadsheet [...] to predict pH since a lot of the mashing happens very quickly, making after the fact adjustments less useful (although I still mash for an hour and then fly sparge very slowly). I have measured several batches and find that darker malts go a little lower in pH than predicted and lighter malts go a little higher. Using this experience, I find that I now hit target mash pH usually within +/- 0.1 but never more than 0.2 off and that is plenty good enough. I do not have to measure pH for every batch, but do so every couple of months and if I am changing my process. What to expect from any meter at this price point:1) You will need to purchase calibration solutions which run $8 – 10 per 8 oz bottle. I use about an ounce at a time for a calibration and found that once per month is frequently enough. I will pour that ounce out of the battle, calibrate and then pour solution into a secondary bottle (an old thoroughly cleaned spice bottle works great) for reuse and then use that three or four times before discarding and going with fresh solution. While I would not recommended this for critical applications, it works good enough for my needs. Be sure to think about how careful you need to be for your application. I take care to rinse the meter with RO water before calibrating and shake off any excess water. With this careful approach I can get a couple of years from a bottle.2) The pH sensor will only last about a year. You can replace the sensor, but replacement sensors are about as expensive as replacing the meter. Be careful to store the meter with the pH sensor kept moist with a storage solution, the 7.0 calibration solution, or RO water. The sensor can cease to function if left to dry out so be careful.3) My first meter would not calibrate, this seems to be a common problem. However, replacement was very quick and easy through Amazon. My second meter has been rock steady for 8 months now. This meter has met my needs and helped dial in my process.

Compete Garbage
I have been using this product for the last couple months. at first it seemed fine and actually even now it seems fine because when u put it in calibration solution it is always close. but, when you mesure water it is completely off. i found this out the hard way, i couldn't figure out what the problem was till I test the water with a liquid PH test. This is was reading all kind of different stuff, such a peice of crap. Don't waste your money, I wish I would have just gotten one of the more expensive ones to start out with. I have had 2 cheap ones now and they both failed.

Good enough, buy calibration solutions first.
I received this item around a week ago.It works well and looks cool. You need also, buffer solution (7.0, 4.0) storage solution (you can also use 7.0 solution, but storage solution is adviced) instruccions are good.Proper care , as with any tool, is required (Routine calibration adviced). Not water proof, reading takes a few seconds to settle.Accurate readings, good material and design.I am satisfied so far, kudos to hanna products.

GREAT BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!
I just used this instrument for the first time while making a batch of my famous garlic habanero sauce. It's incredibly easy to calibrate and use. Anyone that enjoys canning or brewing should really consider this meter. It's very cost effective.

DOA
Arrived doa. Removed battery cover, followed steps, unit will not turn on. Tried diff batt. Nothing. Super disappointed. Needed a meter asap and instead of buying at store I ordered this one, and it failed me. Had to return and goto store and buy one. Very frustrating, especially from a brand that supposed to be top of the line.

Worst pH meter
Don't waste your money on this product. Not working properly and most importantly after 1 month of use it was not turning on. I had changed the battery but failed to turn it on. Wasted 1800 rupees for this product.
