The Sellsword Mk II is a micro-expansion for Xia: Legends of a Drift System. It contains one miniature, which can be used as either the Sellsword NPC (a mercenary for hire, you can pay to attack other ships, but other players can pay it more to double-cross you!) or it can be used as an additional Tier 2 ship, which has a unique ability, the RK-5 Blaster. This edition contains the NPC: Sellsword Mk II. This ship is mechanically the same as the original Kickstarter exclusive Sellsword, but with a new paint job, name, and tagline. Every Sellsword Mk II pledge level includes a player ship mat - so you can choose to use the Sellsword as an NPC, or a player ship!

One of our favorite games.
If you like playing board games, and you haven't played Xia: Legends of a Drift System, then you are missing out. Our family owns well over 100 board games, and Xia is easily one of our top 10 favorite games. We had to buy every expansion, for the simple reason that we really enjoy playing Xia. Even if you don't play a lot of games, I think you will still want to play this Xia, and you will want to buy this expansion for it too.

Excellent for Solo... Amazing customer support
When this product arrived, the base stand for the ship was broken. Once i reached out to customer support (Far Off Games) they took care of it quick. No Hassle. With that said...This expansion adds the sellsword (a mercenary for hire) that works amazingly well for solo. Solo can be a challenge, but sellsword helps balance the act against the early deployment of 2-3 NPCs.

A nice addition if you want a little more from Xia.
It's a solid item, but it doesn't add anything necessary for enjoyment of Xia. This is more for people who want to get the most out of Xia and are completionists.

Sellsword Mk II for the fun
Xia is a fantastic Game by far off games and the add-on’s have been great the sellsword add on is no different it adds a mercenary that you can hire to make life hard for your friends giving you a advantage.

Nothing but an empty punch board --Updated after Replacement
Received an already opened box re-shrink wrapped with an empty punch board inside...Update - requested and return and a replacement was immediately sent out. This one contained the actual product, excellent. This is a great add on for XIA, especially if you like to play solo as it adds more variety to the game.

You don't NEED it but... You need it!
Not the cheapest thing out there but it's an expansion to one of the best boardgames on the market so you gotta have it! Nuff said!

Not a must-have
While I have read that the Sellsword is an important add-on for solo play, I don't find it important for a regular game. I have played the game twice since starting to use it. In the 1st game, the tile spawning it was never drawn. In the 2nd game, both of us players had the opportunity to hire the ship, but chose not to. Although, we don't really care for the NPC rules on the whole. The NPCs either spend the game attacking each other, or terrorizing one player. And the Solo rules make it impossible to win.Anyways, this NPC might be fun with a lot of players or in certain circumstances. It doesn't take away from the game. Just consider that spending over $20 for a single ship may not be practical.

Nice luxury addition
Not a must have but if you enjoy the different models and/or like having the complete collection of Xia it's a nice addition.
