DO NOT BUY!
DO NOT BUY!!! Projecter lens is made of plastic, if it scratches then that's it projector use is history. How silly can you get to put plastic lens instead of corning scratch resistant glass on a phone like this.

A solid performer with a few flaws
At the time of writing, this phone is already two years old.I purchased a used unit from eBay, but it was in such condition, I doubt it had seen any use.The phone has fairly large screen which is clear and generally good to look at. This phone came out in two iterations. There was deluxe version which had a lot of accessories and there was the standard version. I think the deluxe versions are very rare so although many reviews mention the plethora of accessories, that version is very hard to find now. The standard version comes with a USB cable, a rubber style case, headphones, and the power adaptor (in my case a UK based one). The one weird thing I found was that if you sue any standard USB C cable to charge this, it is way to loose, and the cable constantly comes out. However, if you use the USB cable that comes in the box, it is a perfect fit. I am not sure if this is true for all units or just mine, but if it is a case for all units then the solution in to crush the a third party USB Cable a tiny bit so it gets a tighter grip.Whichever cable you use, this phone takes absolutely ages to charge. I am not even kidding. It takes up to 8 hours, and I usually charge it overnight, but once it is charged the battery lasts a long time. The battery life is very impressive but the charge time is extremely slow.I will give a rundown of the basic features. The rear camera is not the best you will find on a 2018 phone, but it is perfectly usable and can take some good photos in good light and can shoot decent video. I wouldn’t buy this for the camera because there are better camera phones available but it is adequate. The selfie camera is also good enough for video calling and photos in good light. I don’t take many selfies anyway. The speakers are loud and clear, which is good enough for most uses. The Home Screen has some ugly icons on, and they could have kept them generic. There is series border around app icons, but I guess it doesn’t really matter too much. This phone is a mid-specced device so the performance is not blazing fast, but it is perfectly usable. The supplied USB C earphones are OK, but if you wish to use better quality wired ones, you would have to use a USB C converter. There is no headphone jack which is a shame because if you charging the device you can’t plug in a wired pair of headphones. So, this brings me to the main feature if this phone, the laser projector. The projector is mechanical and has auto keystone correction and you don’t have to manually fix the focus. There is a dedicated app that allows you to switch on the projector. There are some basic adjustments you can make, such as the level of brightness, colour pattern and manual keystone correction. Overall, it works well, but there are a few things worth mentioning. In goal dark the picture looks best, and the further away you place the projector from the projecting surface, the bigger picture you get. However, there is a weird kind of gloss to the picture, which I did get used to but it is definitely there. Also there is a little white flickering lune which is only visible when you are projecting to close to the surface. When you pull back, after the picture gets to around 40 inches it disappears. Since the lune is below the picture, and only visible at close projections, or doesn’t really interfere with what you are likely to project but it can feel a little distracting when it is visible. I actually bought this from an official Blackview reseller and they claimed this affected all units but they did not consider it a fault. I beg to differ but I didn’t pay much for the phone to really take it up, especially after they told me they can’t fix that anyway. The other annoying thing is that the picture had a red hue. White text can sometimes appear pink when the projector is not used in total dark, but in complete darkness it is fine. I tested it and if the projector is used in darkness the whites don’t appear red. Some people have mentioned the projector lens is plastic, but it is sufficiently recessed so if you are careful, no damage should occur. I actually cut a piece of plastic screen protector and applied it on top. I plan to change it fairly regularly so the sticky side doesn’t damage the lens. It is tricky to get on there but it protects against scratches etc.The good thing about this projector is that on a full charge, the projector can easily run 4 and a half hours, closer to 5. That is mighty impressive because I have owned the Samsung projector phones before. They were solid performers too, but on a full charge, while using the projector, they usually only lasted around 3 hours, sometimes less. It was still good because most movies are around two and a half hours, but with this you can easily watch two 120 minute movies. I usually only use it for around 20 to thirty minutes a day and the charge lasts a few days (as I don’t use this as a phone, just a projector). Since this phone had a relatively new version of Android running, Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video all work well, and so does the BBC iplayer. It can also play your personal videos and photo slide shows. I was watching the Mandalorian on Disney+ and though on high end phones, the show can look great on the high res screen, with this you can watch it on a 100inch screen for the truly cinematic feel.Although I generally have limits as to how long my kids can watch tv or use tablets/smartphones, this device is great because our youngest child, a toddler, can watch his favourite CBeebies shows for 10-20 minutes in the evening before bedtime and it saves us putting a tv in the room.Overall, I love this device. No phone is perfect and I have highlighted the flaws of this one, but what makes this device worth using is its overall usefulness and I think this device ticks many boxes. If you can find one at a decent price, and in good condition, I would highly recommend getting one. The old Samsung Projector phones were good but they ran older versions of Android, so many of the most popular and latest versions of video streaming apps no longer work (though you can still watch your personal video files). With this having such great compatibility with so many current video streaming apps, it is like carrying a pocket cinema. I wish they had updated this to Android 10 at least because it should easily be able to run that. Occasionally projector phones still crop up, but this will be good enough until around 2023, by which point I hope another one turns up.
