CLUE Detective Game (2005 Edition)

My daughter didn't want the vintage look clue and IMHO this version is the next best. The characters are painted in colors and the weapons are metal (only the rope is plastic). All the favorites I grew up are there. The board is sturdy like any normal gameboard. Loved playing it with my daughter, but Clue is really better with a few more players. Still, we had fun reliving the past and will look forward to some fun future game nights!

I bought this version after playing with friends because this version has figurines for the people, rather than boring markers as in other versions. The whole family and all the friends love this game. It is just like the version I played in the 1970s except for the drawings of the people, but the game is the same. Now be warned that the latest version being sold (I think it is 2013) is drastically different than this! We mistakenly bought the new version at a store and it is horrible. The new version is updated to look like a young celebrity lifestyle--the characters are young and look like Justin Beiber abd other young reality tv celebrities and the mansion changed to a hip party house and the characters lost their titles, so instead of Professor Plum, it is a hipster named simply Plum! Like street names! Colonel Mustard is a 19 year old male model type named Mustard. Reallly stupid!!! So instead of buying the new version, which also is cheaper and has a beach scene on the other side of the party mansion, get this version! Look closely at the pictures and reviews before you buy so you dont get the hip new one.

Initially, I was skeptical because the condition of the game was listed as "Good" which can mean several different things. I just opened my package and am delighted that everything is in excellent condition. The only signs of wear are slightly visible on the corners of the game box.

I love this version of the game. My family plays this game every Saturday morning. I do have to say that the game is quite pricey I ordered a used version and it's been perfect! So that's definitely the way to go. Order a used version, just make sure you read the details about the game so you know what you are getting. I paid $9.99 for a used version and everything was in pristine condition, except for the box. All and all, this is a great game and in my opinion, the best version of Clue

This purchase was a disappointment--we were excited that the description said it was intact, but on opening the box, we found that there were people missing. That's the entire reason we purchase this edition because it had the great people figures. Very disappointed. Found one new, sealed on Ebay for $10 less.

Loved it. Figurines are great for each of the characters. Got it as a gift for 9 year old granddaughter and she loves it.

My daughter had to have the version with the plastic figurines of the characters, and we finally found this one, still brand-new in box. She loves it! We've all had fun playing it so far. Just as fun as I remembered, but the kids have way more fun playing with the little figures than I did with the boring tokens! A fun version of a game that's proven to stand the test of time.

I have played at least 3 games, every evening, since I received this and I have had it for about a week now. It doesn't get old. I found that if you are only playing with yourself and one other person than it works to put five random cards in the envelope. The game will be more challenging, will last longer, and you have to be more sure before you can make an accusation. This game is sooo much fun!

When I first purchased this version of Clue, it was after I had the older Cluedo version, and I didn't appreciate what an awesome set this was until after lending it out, it came back with cards and weapons missing. It was a good thing the figurines that makes this set unique were all still accounted for when the box was returned. So glad I found this on Amazon. This game, amongst quite a few, remains a classic.
