Easy to use, sturdy, good looking.
I got this after re-legging my old workbench. The legs were rickety, but these now hold them to the concrete floor and the rest of the bench hangs on the wall. Solid as a rock and looks sharp. The bases slip onto the 4x4, and you can hold them off the floor with a vice, then let them slide down into position when you have the legs where you want them. Eight concrete screws later, it was all done and dusted.

Beautiful and well made
Loved this product. As indicated by the picture I have added , it looks beautiful on our deck and front porch. We used these to attach the 4x4’s to the deck and they really make it stand out. They are sturdy and well made. Previous reviews indicate that you may have to trim some of the 4x4’s sides to fit in these bases but that was not an issue. Will fully recommend these to anyone wanting to use them I wish you would make them in a 6x6 snap together version. I would purchase them for my front porch as I have yet to find anything I like.

Fast shipping. great product as advertised.
putting 4x4 post in them and adding white j hooks and black decorative fence around them to keep the deer out of my wifes rose garden

Perfect for my needs!
You just can't find these post bases at the local Home Depot or Lowes. While building a new covered deck, I determined that I needed more support for the roof in a few places, but the deck floor was already installed. Using these bases allowed me to add the needed support without having to pull up the floor. They are very heavy and durable. I did have to shave some of the 4x4 post to get it to go into the base, but I'd rather it be too snug than loose! Perfect!

Would Not Fit Over 4x4
I bought this to install a hand rail on my mother's deck. She is in her early 80's and her balance is not always what it should be. I ordered 2 of these items and bought the 4x4 posts at the local hardware store. The item would not fit over the post. It would stop right where the opening meets the start of the post edge and go no further. I even tried to use a hammer, but no luck. The opening needs to be slightly bigger. Since the posts were new, they had not had time to sit outside to allow the internal moisture to evaporate. The need for the hand rail was critical and I could not wait a few days to see if the posts would shrink some after sitting outside. If you buy this item, I recommend letting your post sit a few days in the sun to allow for as much moisture to evaporate as possible.

Can't use rough cut lumber
Only thing I found that you may need to cut the 4 by 4 some I got two and one went perfect other I had to shave bottom about 1/4 inch to fit .very easy to use and worked well for my application

looks great, but you must be clear
looks great, but you must be clear: this is purely cosmetic.... I used it on a deck that was only a few inches off the ground, so the safety concerns were minimal, but if you had to rely on it to actually secure posts for a safe railing, you'd have to shore it up somehow - e.g., I put braces in 2 of the deck corners and that strengthened the whole thing quite a bit
