Just what we needed. The cheaper type of latch got broken and bent repeatedly. This one obviously won't. The entire gate will break apart before this latch fails. Easy to install. Strong. Studly. Attractive.

These are good lock for the money, but will rust some after a year or two in humid Florida conditions. The rust is mostly on the screws, but there is some where the paint wears off too.

The lever does not move up or down so when the gate closes the lever bounces back out causing the gate to not securely close. Had to go out and buy something different where the lever would move up or down when the gate shuts.

This gate hardware is very nice but has aged a little faster than I anticipated. The finish chipped off of the places where the pieces strike each other, but there is no major rust yet (after about 3 years of use). It does require lubrication to maintain maximum function. I use a dry teflon-based lube so I don't stain the cedar fence. Overall, this is a good set for the money. Pair this latch set with adjustable hinges to make sure that the bar will strike in the center of the latch or the brass hinge pin on the latch will bend. Not an insurmountable problem (especially for the cost) but something you should know.

Wonderful lock set! We've had smaller version that kept ripping out of the gate - often after the mechanisms started to bend. This set is heavy duty and works wonderfully on our gate. It really gives me piece of mind that the gate is secure (I have an inground pool and we have lots of little children in the neighborhood!)

This is the second latch that I have purchased from this company. It is a very secure latch that is easy to install. As always Amazon was quick to ship and had the best price.

The rocker for me rusted within 4 months of me adding it to my deck gate. I thought it was heavy-duty... but it certainly was not.
