Someone suggested I purchase this book, so I ordered it through Amazon.com but had never anticipated its magnificence! For one thing, it is HUGE and a work of art! I have had this for a year now and I still treasure it. One afternoon, I had a Buddhist monk as guest and remembered to show this intricately jeweled book to him. We had a wonderful hour together going over the illumined detail on these pages of mandalas. Who is this wonderful artist Romio Shrestha, we thought? The text especially written by Deepak Chopra for this large book throughoutits chapters in large print make for a nice tapestry of inspired thought-sharing and insight into the Wheel of Life and Man's dual nature. This is a real museum piece and well worth the price tag!

This is a beautiful book with images of Tibetan Buddhism mandalas. When I think of the authentic mandalas it is of the images in this book. There are various Buddhist deities, ie Green Tara, Medicine Buddha, etc. in gorgeous colorful mandalas. I highly recommend this museum quality book.

I am totally amazed at the exquisite beauty of thangkas and the quality of printing and design. It is to be appreciated in every bit. I am quite well versed in offset printing, but this is definitely a work of art. Its sharp details, color gamut, and super deep density of ink are unbelievable. What is still amazing is that the dense ink did not transfer onto the opposing pages, not even the slightest tint. The choice of paper, printing ink, imaging method, and post production all work together perfectly.

If you have the slighest interest in this type of art this book is a great addition or reference ppint... meditate on just one of the pictures and find a sweet release of emotion and energy... these are expert paintings and should be treated as such beauty like this has existed for ages and this book gives the casual observer the chance to view it and get a definition... art enthusiasts students even high practioners should gain from this work....

This is a beautiful book. I first saw this in a rather nice Nepalese restaurant high in the mountains in Nederland, Colorado, and was immediately inspired to buy it. It's available from several places, and after working out the cost of the book plus the carriage, I went to Grassroots Books as they had the best combined deal. I later regretted not paying a bit more because the book arrived about a week later than promised.

I absolutely love the book, and the size is much more easily handled than the larger version. Only drawback is that much of the very minute detail is hard to see with the naked eye. I think I need to get a magnifying glass to truly examine the images entirely

I thought originally that this was the extra large book. But I am loving that it isn't. It sits on my desk so I can meditate on the images. Beautiful book and great writings of the cosmos.

I LOVE this book. My rating is more for Amazon for packaging the item too loosely in a box that was far too big for it, resulting in a top corner getting totally crunched. Disappointed in the condition.

Outstanding book with fantastic explanations which are very enriching and informative . Must have for any art lover (especially those who take interest in the Thangkas).The only flaw with this book is that much of the intricate detail is slightly difficult to see with bare eyes. However, the quality of the paper, the overall getup and the content is stunning !Highly recommended and absolutely worth the price !

This book is so beautiful. It's a huge book but I saw a copy of this at the cottage I was staying at and had been looking forward to looking at it every year and finally decided I just needed to have it for myself. The picture quality is amazing. It's art in a book and it's spiritual!
