Most Practical Nexus Case
After I bought my first Nexus 7 2013 seven years back, I bought a Moko case. The Moko held up for about 6 years but was starting to fall apart. But when I looked for another on Amazon there were none to be found. I bought a Speck plastic case that has some features I liked but some I didn't. Since I didn't have a lot of choices I bought it anyway. A few days using it made clear it was not as useful as the Moko. Unlike the Moko, it had no elastic hand strap for holding it open while reading. And its grooves for using it as a triangle stand were fairly useless. The Nexus repeatedly slid out of them. In the photo the Speck is on the left. I was so dissatisfied I went looking for the Moko again. No luck there but I did find an exact clone, the Poetic. In the photo it is on the right and you can see the triangle stand grooves are much deeper. It does a great job of holding the Nexus if like me you like reading lying down with the Nexus on your chest. Look, no hands! On the con side it is already showing signs of wear; the fake leather is peeling along the spine. But I can live with that. It isn't perfect, but I still think it's the best design. If they can only make the finish last longer.

A little too snug
Pro:Better than the flimsy gummy case($19.95) that was all I could find when the tablet came out.Provides decent protection in the event of a short drop.At the time of purchase, it was out of stock-but the price was $3.95 delivered. The price raised the rating by one star. It's tight and won't fall off.Lots of viewing, and holding options.Auto on and off upon closing cover-very handy.Cons.1.Was very, very tight. Had a hard time actually putting it on.2.Clasp is tight, and platic. Be careful if you are thinking about bending it just a hair.3.Speaking of that, I cracked a tab on the bottom (when I landscape). I was going to prop the tablet at an angle using the notches provided in the cover. But, when I went to pop the bottom of the tablet out, the corners hung and actually caused the edge of my brand new Nexus 7FHD to pop open. I was able to click it back closed, and hope there is no future unseen damage.4. This is where I learned about the fragile plastic. Buying a case that allows me to prop up the tablet was the whole point. So I gently pulled on the offending tab to loosen it up a bit when it snapped. It did not fall off and will still protect the corner in a drop, and it certainly will not snag the corner of the tablet when trying to unfold it into a propped up position anymore. But it is now the opposite-very loose. BE CAREFUL.Overall for the money, unbeatable. I have similar cases on my Note 10.1 and love it.(Fintie Clickbook series folio hardback) - was not available for the New Nexus at the time.Mark

Excellent product and customer service
I rarely ever write reviews for anything. This may be only my 2nd one in many years of using Amazon. However, I have to compliment Poetic on their customer service.I bought both the slimline AND strapback case from Poetic (for my N7 2013). The slimline worked 100% for me, but I was unhappy with how it functioned in "kickstand mode," though this is no fault of Poetic, it is just a shortcoming of that design style (only one viewing angle, and easy to accidentally knock it over). I kept it anyway, since it may be useful sometime when I don't need kickstand mode (and I think it has a cleaner look than strapback), but then I also bought the strapback since it offers multiple viewing angles and resistance from being knocked over when in "kickstand mode." (Sidenote: I also tried the Moko strapback and returned it since the headphone cutout was off center... even viewing just the stock photos on Amazon you can tell the Poetic headphone hole is placed better than the Moko). The strapback works 99.9% for me, but sometimes the magnets are too strong if I have it flipped into "book mode" and they turn the screen off, as others have reported it. I contacted Poetic and they said they were already fixing it and would send me a new strapback in a few weeks. But here is the really cool part. Even though I had no problems with my slimline case, and never complained about it, I just got another one in the mail today! I guess they revised the product and mailed EVERY customer a new one. I don't even know what the problems were, maybe magnet strength issues again (though my slimline v1 magnets are ok), but hey, I'll take a spare case, and Poetic just got themselves a lifetime customer!

Does the job well
Uses the nexus 7's magnetic sensor to turn off the screen when detected, fits very snuggly, has lots of options, hand band, strap to hold the device to the back of the case when open fully, the typically stand slots,That being said, it could use some improvements, the band for your hand expands, but does not fully ever go back to the original size, meaning it jiggles around, the band to hold the device to the back of the case seems very weak, when you get the case, wipe the inside (mine was very dusty and left marks on my tablet) and the way the device is held to stand up involves snapping the nexus out of two 'holsters' which make a loud noise when you remove the tablet from them. In fact you have to twist the device to remove them, and though you get used to it, it almost seems as if you are trying to break the tablet, just to get it to stand up. I have gotten used to it, but it is very scary at first, not the least bit comforting for any new nexus owners.

Look at other designs.
Looks very nice but it's way too tight. It was so tight that it actually cracked my tablet and i had to replace it, no idea if it's just one faulty case or if it's present in all of them but I recommend being cautious when using it(especially when flipping it into stand mode as taking out the tablet from the case can crack the plastic near the micro usb port due to the super tight grip.)I probably won't be using it again but I hope it works for the rest of you.

Great Product
I really like this case as it provides very good protection for the tablet and the sleep feature is very handy. I especially like how it stays securely closed and will not open on its own. The multiple viewing angles is good and easy to useOverall I think this is a great case at a great price.

Amazing Case
The wife and I had been deliberating on which case to get. So many out there. But this one has what we were looking for and we got it for a great price. I would recommend to anyone easily. Great quality (not just for the price). Truly impressed and surprised. :)

Crappy patty !!!, pile of s***, junk for me
The only reason I did choose this product was because of the hand strap feature but while using the hand strap it shuts down my Google nexus 7 (2013) all the time. The magnet is too strong probably. I have no idea how do they sell such product without testing properly. I mean aren't they aware of it or they just don't care and sell it anyway?
