I have a vertical pellet smoker. The smoker has a temperature control and uses it to control an auger to pull pellets into a small burning cup. The pellet smoker’s probe is low, fairly close to the burner. This TedGem has 6 probes, they are all meat probes but it also has a small holder that clips into a grate so a probe can be held near the cooking grate but well supported as opposed to resting on the grate. All the probes read within a degree (F) of one another so they seem accurate. In order to connect to a phone, a utility app needs to be downloaded. Once that is done, this wireless thermometer displays the temperature on the smart phone. There are timers and temperature alarms you can set. It alarms if the phone goes out of bluetooth range and reconnects when back in range. Each probe has a brightly colored silicone marker. That color starts off bright but the first time it’s used, those colors fade and become more of a muddy grayish color although the colors are still easy to distinguish so you can still identify which probe is which. Overall this temperature monitor is great. You can monitor internal temperature of up to 6 foods, the wire is relatively thin so it doesn’t really interfere with a door seal. The box is magnetic so stays put when stuck to a cool part of the outside of the cooker. It’s accurate enough to judge the accuracy of the grill/smoker/oven. Mine surprised me, my smoker varies by up to 50 degrees. The temperature at the upper part of the smoker is quite a bit higher than the smoker setting. These temperature probes caused me to set the smoker to a lower temperature than the smoker’s own internal probe indicated. Anyway, this thing is great, it’s well made, it works very well, it’s a good value, and I’d repurchase it in a heartbeat if something happened to mine.

I couldn't wait to open the box and see what this thermometer had to offer.When I opened it, to my surprise, the probes were much longer than the picture made them out to be. This is perfect for me, because I enjoy smoking thicker cuts like tri tip and brisket.Having 6 probes makes it so much nicer than the set up I had before that ran $50 at home depot and only had one probe and a wireless gauge that you had to carry around with you to know when your food was close to being done.Gone are the days of walking around with the wireless gauge and my phone.Now all i have to do is check my app that connects to this set up through bluetooth, you can choose what type of meat each probe is in (by color) and set it to the desired cook temp you want it to reach I.E. Rare; Medium Rare; Medium....It sends a notification to your phone as the meat gets close, and shows all 6 temps for each probe at the same time.This is amazing for anyone doing a big cook, or has different size thickness of say chicken breast...some finish sooner than others and you don't want try chicken.Amazing PRODUCT, Amazing PRICE!Do yourself a favor and buy this set up!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This thing is really great. I’ve been through 4 thermometers that were from $20 and up. This being only $8 is amazing. I can’t believe the accuracy and ease of use. Bluetooth range is better then most also. I have used it 5 times now. The pictures are done after 2 hours of smoking on a gas2coal Charbroil. Not even meant for smoking but it has been very easy with this meter. I wished I had bought a couple mire of these for gifts but they are no longer available. I’m sure when they are available again they will be a lot more expensive then $8.Unfortunately there is a metal disk inside that came loose and must have rendered the unit unusable. I have done the return. Wish this would have worked.11-08-2020I glued the metal disk back down and it started working again. I’ve been using it for months now. Love it again. I am down 2 probes though. One is now 18°+ and the other is 14°+. So the other 4 probes still reading accurate.

These started out awesome. Worked great on initial start up on my smoker. Easy app install. Worked great until..... Don't try and move them once they are placed. They stop functioning. Don't get them the least bit wet. They stop functioning. Imagine my surprise when. I went to spritz my ham that's smoking then. Everything stopped working. Switched out probe then samething happened again. And again and again. Good thing they give you six. If you clean them. Off and let them cool, they function again. However, I really don't like changing probes in theiddle of a cook. Can't recommend these.

Actually beyond my expectation. Material is good, no smell. The sensor is very responsive. It refreshes every 1 or 2 seconds. I installed the app from Google Store. The device just automatically connects as soon as the app is open. Very convenient. And you can set temperature range, and alerts in the app.

Arrived on time. Easy to setup. Compact size. Great to cook multiple items at the same time. Perfect for my smoker. Perfect results.

I didn't use this a ton, but whenever I did I was grateful that I finally made the purchase. Unfortunately, suddenly after about a year and half it's dead. Make your own judgement, but mine is that this is a POC.
