A book to treasure
I have 8 grandchildren and am always on the lookout for books to keep on my shelves for them. 'The princess who hid in a tree" fits the bill. It is full of beautifully detailed illustrations to talk about whilst reading aloud to the littlest ones but the story itself is adventurous and exciting with a happy ending to appeal to them all. We live in Oxford, so is there a better book for my children' library than one about its patron saint?

Inspiring story for young girls!
"The Princess who hid in a tree" is a very powerful yet beautiful story that can inspire young girls to follow their true Calling in life, and to stand up for what they believe, with courage and integrity. My 8-year-old daughter is fascinated about the story and the illustrations, and she wants to go to Oxford to visit Frideswide's place.

A MUST HAVE BOOK FOR YOUR CHILD'S/CLASS BOOKSHELF
This is a beautifully written children's book which links fantastically well to the Anglo Saxons. As a primary school teacher, I have used this in my classroom within both English and History lessons and the children thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Not only is it a fantastic book for the classroom but is also certainly a book that I will ensure is on my daughter's bookshelf when she's a little older. An easy to read, enjoyable story book with stunning illustrations throughout. Definitely one I would recommend!

Gorgeous!
For some reason St Frideswide's story has been almost forgotten, even though she's the patron saint of the city of Oxford. This beautiful book is a fresh, engaging new telling of her legend and will help introduce Frideswide to a new generation of children, their parents and grandparents. Beautifully illustrated, well written and highly recommended for young and old alike.
